To reset or not to reset...

While playing today, I realized something. My town layout completely sucks. I can't place another bridge anywhere convenient, as there are villagers houses or my house or other things in the way. My villagers picked the WORST places to put their houses. (really Tangy and Merry? RIGHT where i wanted to replace the cobblestone bridge to fit my town theme? really?) I unknowingly placed my campsite in a terrible spot and i am now unable to move it. General suckiness of the layout itself.

However, I am too far in to reset cold turkey.
- I have a perfect town, 4 jacob's ladders have spawned to prove it.
- Multiple request-only pwp. (though not THAT many)
- A flower clock in my town.
- A pretty big town tree.
- Over 6mil in bells.
- Some of my dream villagers (Tangy, Merry, and Lobo)
- Fully pathed, decorated town.
- Hybrids
- Cafe, Shampoodle, Super T&T, Kicks, Leif's, Dream Suite, Club LOL
- multiple silver/gold tools
- every fruit (except persimmons)

I feel like i've accomplished too much to reset. I would have to give WAY too much to someone to hold for me for a few days, let alone the villagers i want to transfer over.

Other than reset, my only option is to buy another copy of the game. [EDIT] Which wouldn't be such a problem if i wasn't an 18 year old just about to live on my own for the first time in one of the most expensive cities in the world, while also going to college. So to anyone who has had this problem as well - which choice do you think is more worth it?

I was in the same situation. I had a perfect town, a bunch of hybrids, a lot of big public works (cafe, flower clock, etc.) After a few days of thinking it over, I did reset. I did however have a buddy hold my items/bells, so I wouldn't lose EVERYTHING. It made me a lot happier because I got the perfect town layout and villagers. It was worth it for me ^.^

Honestly, I would probably end up resetting the game because I had accomplished so much. I mean, really, once you have all that done, what is there left to do other than the holidays and trading for villagers and such?
That's just me, though.

Grr I'm on the same page as you, mayorofavalon. Though I'm known to have problems with my resetting habits, and I've done it far too much. I feel like at this point, I really should be settled in my current town and have a lot of things accomplished. But I'm not, and nothings been done. I chose a terrible spot for my campsite, and I'm not even sure I want a campsite anymore, and my house is squished where it's at, neighbors are only in the spots I WANT to put a PWP on, (it's my fault for not using the Neighbor Moving trick, having known about it prior to my villagers moving in), and I just don't feel settled. .-. My face bothers me, I picked the wrong one, and I don't like how my Mayors name is my name in real life. I'd prefer it to be something different. It just feels.. A lot less stressful when you open up your 3DS and get to play in a whole other world, where you get to be someone else for once.

Personally, I think you should reset. I agree with mira_me23. And like Freya said, if you want someone to hold your stuff for you, I'm sure there's many TBT'ers kind enough to do it. Although I think it's nice for a completely blank canvas to work with, but it's your choice.

edit: gahhh just writing that it making me itch to press the Build a New Town button. -____-'' this isn't good. but honestly. i feel like it's sorta the right thing to do. especially with all these problems and faults in my town. i know it can't be perfect, and never will be. i can grow to like the imperfections, but there is just so many. i know for a fact that i could get a layout i like a lot more, neighbors, house placements, and that settling feeling i've been looking for if i just reset. kmgmlkdfmkgmkl i'm gonna do it. /shot </3

I wanted to reset myself a week ago, but after some thought I didn't. It would have been way too much of a hassle and what if I regretted it even more? Now that would totally suck the enjoyment out of this game for me. I would give it some time and if you still utterly hate your town, reset.

I would just reset, because if you keep your current town you are just going to keep thinking about how crappy your town layout is.

I recently reset my town because I didn't like the layout at all. I didn't feel like going through all the trouble of waiting for my friend to get online and hold my items, so I just started completely fresh and it was worth it. I got a lot of villagers that I love and got a really nice town layout! If you don't mind starting over, I'd say go for it.

If you do end up restarting, Id say give you villagers away and make some dreams come true. :D

Jakeypride, i swear you read my mind sometimes. this is exactly what i'm going to do. i know some of my villagers aren't the best, but i'm sure someone out there will want them. i'll start TT-ing now to get animals to move out. keep an eye out on the villager giveaway thread for me lolol. ~

honestly, this helps a lot, thank you. i'm glad there are some success stories on a really nerve-wracking thing to do. the ONLY thing holding me back is Lobo. maybe i can make him move out to someone else's town and they can make him move out into mine once i reset. hmm..

here's my town in all it's terrible glory for anyone who wants to see it

(it's even worse in game)

i'll think it over tomorrow and then i'll probably set up a thread on here once i get wifi for someone to hold my bells, tools, some clothing items, and some hybrids until i reset

idk this is so hard to choose hahaha

of course! lobo is the only one i will try to find a way to keep. as much as i love tangy and merry and tia, others want them more. c: the others, well, people can go wild, haha

Who knows.... I might take Agnes if I have a free spot... lol :D

I've been in this situation several times. I always get bored easily, not to mention that I'm very impatient too! However, after every reset I've always regretted resetting. My advice would be to simply play on! To quench your thirst for things to do then I'd recommend filling each of your encyclopaedias (if you haven't already.) There are tonnes of things to do, create new characters and make themed rooms, try to change a neighbours interior to suit you! (That'd take a long time but it'd be a significant achievement!) speaking of achievements, why not try to collect all the badges? Or complete your catalog?

The matter of the problem is that you've more or less completed everything the game has thrown at you, correct? Why not complete what other players throw at you?

*cough* There's a certain pink wolf *cough* on the forums that would love to take Tangy *cough*

I'm so subtle.^.^
