To Mush or Not to Mush, that is the question.

Now, we all know that seasonal recipes and items is a bit of a non-object when sites like this exist, with us all being capable of trading such things. But I've been waiting for mushrooms to start spawning before I add mushroom stuff to my Faerie forest and..... I'm losing patience. It just doesn't look right without them. But on the flip side, If I do, there's not much else left for me to DO with my island decor, and when the mushrooms start appearing, I'll just have a useless surplus of them. Blaaaaahrgh.
Has anyone else had this kinda conundrum, and what did you do?

I have been getting impatient as well. the part of my island that looks undecorated is around my villagers because i want it to be a mush foresty place where they live.
However I understand if i purchase the mush stuff then I won't have anything left really on my island for decorating. maybe a little bit for the winter but that is it. Autumn is my favorite time of the year and I really want to experience this in the way it was intended too.
I have decided to just wait until i get the spawning materials and seasonal update. I also feel like my Oran Myst time is coming to a close too at the same time. This island just felt like an experiment and demo to me since this is my first ac game and i had to learn and stuff.

Yeah! I really hope they keep updating it for a couple of years. I didn't go into this island with a plan as it is my first one, and I'm not gonna re-arrange much, but I don't want to run out of things to do just yet.

I understand this feeling very much so - especially with the frozen and illuminated items. I have resisted the urge to buy the recipes since I want to try to buy them on my own when they are available here, but I have bought or traded for a bunch of the furniture and will probably continue to since they have been fitting surprisingly well with my designs.

I have been tempted to buy some of the mush furniture as well to see if I could do something with them with my theme, but with the season so close, I’m trying really hard to wait. I don’t like mushrooms in rl but i admit the set is pretty cute/pretty :)

I totally understand. I'd been waiting patiently without TTing and buying certain things but recently I started to feel a bit bored and I thought trading would bring some more excitement to my island. I was right! It was really fun to start collecting more things I didn't have access to previously. Maybe start with one or two small items and see how you like them. If you feel it's too much too soon you can always throw them in storage until the mushrooms start sprouting for real!

There's a lot of mushroom items I want but I'm just going to wait (or try to) until they show up in my game. It'll keep me motivated to play. That said, I did get a seasonal item recently (from another season) because I really needed it for what I was working on. Just do whatever you think works best for the way you play the game.

I was thinking of just getting a couple of Mush Partitions, and leaving it at that for now.... hmm...

Ok, I’m a hypocrite 😊 I don’t TT but I have some areas out of season as I have been so lucky to have been gifted items from a lovely friend 💕 I am desperate for illumated snowflakes/presents but trying so hard not to buy.

Mush stuff wasn’t overly keen but got some lamps from @KAYYBE and they look fab. I will try and do the rest myself 🤞🙈

I'm patiently waiting. I have a foresty island, so the mushrooms will probably look cool in certain areas. I'm definitely going to have plenty of pine cones scattered all over the island, too!

I caved and got them all already
my house is complete
ahh well xD

If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, mushrooms don't spawn until November- so it'll be a long wait. They're NOT available all fall, which some people think (acorns and pinecones are, though). They're more exclusive- like cherry blossoms (maple leaves are similar, but only half of November, I believe).

I'm in the north, and currently stopped off in October (where I have two character birthdays) before I go to November PURELY for mush recipes. They're so cool, I COULD NOT wait, and I have no desire to trade for all of them. I'd rather "earn" them myself, even if it means TTing that far! ...Not that I have anything against TTing, of course, but normally I don't make such big jumps. But mush stuff is worth it
Besides, it's not like I'll get bored- we'll still be having events with new furniture! If I waited 'til November, it would likely coincide with Harvest season. So I wanna get 'em now.

NOVEMBER!? I thought I was next month! Gah.... I might just trade for them anyway. I'll still have maple stuff and ice stuff to look forward to. I might be studying for an apprenticeship in the upcoming months, I'd rather enjoy it now than when I have no time for it.

I just limit my playing when the game feels "pointless". New things will be here soon, and I have other games to play in the meantime. Still check in on things like turnip prices, or to see what is for sale in the shops...but, my daily AC play has be drastically cut while I wait for seasonal changes to occur. Probably down to playing for 20 mins here and there...maybe a total of an hour per day right now. I do wish the wait for interesting content wasn't as long as it is...but, I'm fine with it, tbh.

I did, too, but then I remembered it was November in previous games 😕 I looked it up to confirm. I think the Southern Hemisphere had it in May or June. But, I believe they're available all month, so that's nice, I suppose!

If I didn't TT, that's how I'd be. But I enjoy playing a lot, and personally enjoy TTing ☺ Don't fault anyone who doesn't, though!
When I was a kid I'd TT like mad, though. WAY more than now! In CF I spent pretty much all my play time jumping between holidays and earning Bells that way. Some people were so insulted by that way of playing and called it "cheating", which I guess it kind of was, but it was like... I'm not competing against anyone else, so it's not giving me an unfair advantage. And I'm having fun! So who cares? But I can understand the appeal of playing a little every day. It's just not for me!

heh. i can't even tt. parental controls. pretty sucky.

if i could and i wanted them that badly, then just do it bro
