hello, I'm getting a bit nervous because it's nearing the end of the season for tarantula and scorpions and I haven't even seen one in my town. eep! =( I understand they come out after 7pm, but you have more of a chance of running into one after 11, yes? I have a few questions regarding this

1. do they have certain 'spawning points' for each village or could they appear randomly anywhere, anytime?

2. will they appear at all if I have my net out? I know having the net out makes them aggressive, but I wasn't sure if this influenced their spawn rate

3. can I enlist the help of a friend to come over and help me search? or will it be like the bees, and they don't come out at all when you have a visitor?

any other advice you can give this poor lady would be appreciated. these guys are tricky!

1. No- they can appear randomly in the village. For instance, just a few days ago, I found a scorpion in a niche behind my bamboo- a point it was never in before.

2. They will, but if you have it out, they're more prone to attack. Keep your net in your pockets and take it out once you find one. Creep up slowly on it.

3. No. They disappear during Wi-Fi connection.

They used to be much harder to catch, but I guess the makers of Animal-Crossing saw that some people could never finish their bug collection and get the golden net because of that ;) I've caught a tarantula, but they don't always spawn... So I'm waiting for another scorpion to come out. I used to scare them away because my net wasn't out, and it took me a while to do so...

It's so frustrating catching them. I've yet to do it because I keep panicking and missing, and of course they attack me as soon as I miss them. I'm just never prepared when I run across them. One night I found four scorpions/tarantulas in five minutes. I missed all of them, and one because I was running with my net and it immediately attacked me. Ten minutes later I found another scorpion and missed again, but that time because it ran into a tree before I could get to it. It was discouraging. My advice is don't panic when you see one. Stay calm. I know that is easier said than done, though.

I was able to catch a scorpion! Unfortnately, I got bit by the one tarantula I've encountered. I think we still have about a week left though, so I'm not panicked yet. I'll try to catch that one tomorrow. CrimzonLogic, I caught the scorpion by sneaking up to it with the net drawn. I guess the tricky part is getting lined up properly. Good luck to you! I'm sure we can get these guys caught soon.

Best advice I got was to go about your daily routine. And it worked in all 3 towns.
I found that some spawn in the same spot. In Town Victoria all three players found the tarantula in the same spot.
It was behind camp ground.

Making some open spots helped. I remove some flowers, trees and PWP. Made sure to leave a few flowers in those areas.
I've only had one scorpion on a pathway and I got it. All the rest showed themselves and than quickly ran to the red flowers to hide.
A lot spawn where the rocks spawn.
Also noticed that the villagers will stop moving. Three villagers stood near the bridge and didn't move.
Walked pass and there was my 1st scorpion in town 1.
In town 2 I watched tarantulas walk behind me while I fished. Caught the fish and than the bug.

No I don't care my net. I carry the fishing rod or the watering can. Only tool in my pocket is my net.
If the scorpion goes in to attack freeze. Wait for it to stop and than move. Repeat until you catch it.

I haven't seen a tarantula yet. I'll be doing some fishing at night this weekend to get those last 3 fish I need for this month, and I'm hoping a tarantula will spawn. I got my scorpion when I wandering around with my rod out and I heard hissing. I froze and pulled my net out and when into creeping mode and waited until it stopped hissing to creep up and snatch it. It was really easy for me.

they're really quick and by the time I get my net out I've been bitten. Still working on catching both. D:

1) Keep your net next to the tool you're using!

2) Don't look for them! Instead, do errands for your villagers or hunt for some other bugs! You will eventually see one.

***When You See One***

>If it is a Scorpion, pull out your net and walk VERY SLOWLY towards it! It will only hiss at you that way. Then, when you get close, swing your net! Yay! That was the easier of the two.

>If it is a Tarantula, get behind it! This is a very important step! Then, hold A with your net out and swing right before it looks at you! Yay! It can be tricky to get behind it, especially if it spawns behind a building or near a river...

EXTRA: Make a giant field in your town with AT LEAST 5 trees!

^^^This has helped me a LOT, as they don't spawn in crowded areas. I'm always keeping an eye open for them on my nightly walk :)

Current Record using this methood: 16 Scorpions 10 Tarantulas
Hope I helped! :D

I've only seen one Tarantula so far, and I got so scared that I panicked. (I have a horrid fear of spiders!) And then it bit me and my mayor blacked out. I must have cried for 5 minutes straight! I hate that I'll have to do it again, and actually catch it this time!! D:<

I've had much better luck w/ scorpions! I've caught one already, though the second one I saw disappeared into a path. :C

Ahh I didn't realize we were running out of time...I saw two scorpions but both times they ran away before I could get my net out. I'll definitely be using Hoppy's tips this next week!
