Timmy and Tommy don't follow you around anymore?

I just walked into my Nooks Cranny and one of them was near the register and the other one was near the small display case.

Is this new? When did they change this? I'm confused!!!

They don't follow you around if your gates are open.

Its only when your gates are opened they stop following you around.

Oh.....LOL I usually don't go in there when my gates are open so I guess I just found that out today. Man, I hoping they changed that, would have been awesome. Oh well.....
