Time travelling question

So I have a lot of stuff on the ground in my town that I'm holding for someone but I really want to keep cycling so I can hold some other villagers in my town and such. If I time travel a lot, will the items still be on the ground or will some go missing?

I just don't want to lose any of their stuff so I wanted to ask in case anyone has some experience with this :/

The items will still be on the ground, but I believe a few might end up in the police station if you have one.

If you place any on the plaza where Redd or Katrina set up shop, those items will be moved to the police station.

Oh, since it's my cycling town I only have the campsite built. So if I travel nothing will be gone? Or if it's where they set up shop, will it just disappear forever?
What if a villager moves in where the items are, is it the same deal?

I'm not sure... If you don't have a police station, you might lose them. I also don't know about villagers moving in. I guess the best thing to do is to keep items off of that section of the plaza and put items on the beach and in other areas (like next to PWPs, your house, in front of Re-Tail and around the train station) where they shouldn't be in the way.

Ah okay, I'll just stay on the safe side and wait until they can pick up all their items. I don't want to move them because I don't want them to think I've stolen something, but I'll know for next time to advise people where to put their items

Yes, a villager can move on top of your stuff. I had some clothing where an unexpected villager moved in and they disappeared!

i'd say if you have enough space in your locker at the train station, to store those items in there, just for safety precautions.
they shouldn't disappear by time traveling if they're out on the ground, but there is always that chance that a few of them might disappear due to villagers moving in over them.

I do but they're not my items so I don't really want to touch them ;-;
