I already have a hard copy, and was considering buying a digital copy because I want a new town but I don't want to lose my neighbors/items/everything, basically.

I remember some people on here saying they have a copy of each version, so I gotta ask...why? The same reasoning as mine? Or is it something else? :u

I have another copy to help others get dream villagers, while also getting my own, and to create a display town that I have been neglecting since I am focusing on the main town at the moment. >_>

I really wanted Olivia and nobody was willing to trade her. So now I have her and can give away animals to others! But I think everyone knows that already. xD But yes, I was that determined to get that cat. She's totally worth the $35!

Eventually I'll make a brand new town to play on it though. ^_^

Olivia was totally worth the 35 dollars. =)

Goodness, that is such a kind thing to do. Props to you. ^^

What, you traded villagers with yourself? I didn't think it possible. @.@ Definitely considering buying the digital copy now...

And yeah, I think Olivia is pretty worth. :0

To trade dream villagers by resetting the second copy until you get the one you want? :3

That's what I'd do anyway...

i would totally get a second copy for like having two towns, cycling villagers, etc. only if i had a 2nd 3DS but i'm too broke for that #brokecollegestudenprobs

huuhuu T.T'

personally i think i'd like to buy another copy to get some villagers i want and create a different town, but is it worth the extra money? not in my opinion. and would my parents let me purchase another? i doubt it ;n;

I'm going to keep going for dream villagers and I suppose it's a way to have a variety of things to do.
For example, when it's daytime on my first game, it will be night time on my other and vice versa :-)

I have two, a North America version (pre-installed in the special edition 3DS XL) and a Japanese version (physical copy played on a Japanese 3DS). Here's the long story.

I owned the Japanese 3DS first. I bought it a few years ago to play Professor Layton and the Last Specter as well as Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. I was a rabid fan and I didn't want to wait for the English version, so I bought the Japanese 3DS to play the Japanese versions as soon as they were available.

Then AC:NL was released in Japan. I saw the special edition console (same design as the one released worldwide this year) that was being sold and I fell in love with it. I wanted it, but I didn't want to buy another Japanese console. So I told myself to wait for the English version, hoping that they'll re-release this design when they launch the game internationally.

Luckily, that turned out to be the case! Happily, I bought the special edition 3DS XL that came pre-installed with the game. After playing for a few weeks, I realized that I could have another town if I want, since my old Japanese 3DS is just sitting in my drawer. So I bought the physical game from a Yahoo Japan auction. Now I have two towns, and I'm really glad they are different region towns because I get to experience the same game in different ways. :)

Gosh I want a Japanese 3DS for so many other games, especially ACNL
You're so lucky! Haha

Wow, some people paid $35 just to help others get their Dreams Villagers? That's so generous!

I could buy SO much food for $35. (◡‿◡✿)

I bought my 3DS originally as soon as they announced that a new Animal Crossing was coming. Then, when New Leaf was finally released I bought the physical edition but my 3DS was starting to have problems. Sometimes it wouldn't start properly, wi-fi would drop out intermittently, things were really slow.

With New Leaf i was starting to put more time into the 3DS than ever before so I decided I'd finally upgrade to an XL. I had a look at prices for various XL editions and found I could import the UK version of the Animal Crossing special edition XL for a relatively cheap cost (I'm in Australia, they're a compatible region with us and that edition of the XL wasn't released here). It came with a digital copy, suddenly I had two copies.

What I then did was transfer my 3DS data to the XL and used the Save Data Transfer tool from the eStore to transfer my town off the physical card and into my digital edition. The physical edition now lives in the old 3DS and as long as blue tooth still works I have Storgirl as the mayor of Stortown (just so I have a non-peach town to sell my perfect peaches in, so many of my friends have peaches as native).

When the bluetooth finally dies I will delete Stortown and the cartridge will be donated to my friends kids who are currently keeping themselves occupied with my old Wild World

Think of the ramen you could buy ._.

I only got like one of my dream villagers, and that was when Mint randomly moved in.

I have two physical copies which works so well since I have a Pikachu 3DS XL that was a gift and the original 3DS that I purchased for myself a little while after they came out.

I wanted to toy around with resets and getting a better map, but I am in love with my original town and the progress I have made. Also I thought it could help me get some dreamies faster and seeing as my second town loaded with popular villagers I will probably have luck getting those. Plus I like themed towns and I wanted to make my second town resemble the Land of Ooo hehe. P:

One is my Japanese and one is my American town. I'm Aussie but I have a American copy and 3ds cause I has a capture card.. Also my daughter has her own copy cause you just cant share a town, doesn't work that way :)

I have two copies with the digital version being the one I originally bought and the physical copy and its 3DS was given to me by a younger relative who upgraded to a 3DS XL.

The digital version is my main town and gets the most attention because I started it first while the physical copy just serves as a place to visit and because I have the time set so that Re-Tail will be open in the am, where I go and sell bugs and things I caught in my digital version.

I have the ac 3dsxl that came with the digital copy and i fought myself on buying a physical but i ended up buying it these are my reasons for having two games:
two towns so i can travel to see even more neighbors when my friends arent online (cuz i guess u can only have 10 neighbors) also i did it because i wana collect all the fruit so now i have cherries and also peaches. My best friend has apples and my bf has oranges. Just need pears xD
also i found out u can make a theme for your town and i wana do fairy tale and then zen for my physical copy. Also for the physical copy i made a boy character so its opposite :D of my digital

I got a digital copy for free with the so many games promotion, I put it on my old 3ds and lend it to friends so we can play together :)
