Those Things...*TTers Might Be Able To Answer*

Okay, so you know how villagers call cockroaches "those things?" I've been thinking about it, and I decided to start this thread...a question, really.
I have a beautiful town ordinance, and I have caught a lot of bugs, fish, etc. But what about cockroaches? How do I catch one? Do they appear at all, they just aren't in season? Will I have to change my ordinance? I would love to know...Time Travelers might know if they've Time Traveled and seen any. Does anyone know if they show up if you have a beautiful town ordinance? Do you have to not play for a few days, is all?
Thanks...sorry I asked so many questions! I was just wondering and I'm doing my best to catch all of the needed bugs and fish this summer (though there's probably a few I still need). I hope someone can help me out!

They appear in your house so you can't catch them. (Because you can't pull out your net in your house) You can just squash them.

Before implementing the BT ordinance, I TT'd to see what happened. I saw roaches in my house, but since you can't take out your bug net while indoors, I don't think you can catch one.

They are also not listed in the guide's checklist for the museum, so nope, can't catch them

actually with beautiful town you still get ants and flies from rotten turnips and fruit, and ants from candy.

But yeah, like pickles said, you don't need to catch roaches anymore, I think they were replaced by wharf roaches for your encyclopedia and museum.

This is good to know. I have yet to find ants from any rotten fruit. I guess I'll have to leave it out longer.

it only took about 10 minutes for ants to show up. Going in and out of places.

You could use a spoilt/rotten turnip to catch a fly and ant. I caught the fly, went into the house and got out to find ants on it. I keep one to lend out to friends for that purpose. You can 'borrow' it if you would like to.
