He invited me to his home, which I was very happy for, because he has 4 sloppy furnitures!!
Well, after talking to him a few times at his house he said he'd let me buy one of his furniture. I went over to one of the sloppy furnitures - he said that was too precious, choose something else, almost anything else. so I went over the other sloppy furni. Noooope - too precious - he said that too ALL the sloppy furnitures.. So I went for the cardboard table, and he said he knew I'd choose that. I had no other choice, Mott -_-

Because that's a rarity, apparently. I have one myself.

From my experience, some animals will not sell the main furniture in their house. And by main, I mean the items they never switch out with other furniture pieces. I'm not sure if they always keep their main furniture, but I've never been able to buy it =/

I hate when you pick almost every single piece of furniture in an animal's house and they refuse to sell it. Then, you pick the item you wanted least of all and they say they'll sell it to you. -.-

I guess the good thing is just having him in your town greatly increases the chances he'll put one of those "beloved" items up for sale at Re-Tail! Keep a few slots open there so he can sell his items.

I got the sloppy tv and the sloppy table, but sold them because I didn't knew they can't be reordered from the catalog. T_T

Keep Mott in your town for a while. And by a while, I mean a month or more. I still have all of my original villagers, and they're just starting to sell/gift to me their "main" furniture. In fact, Biff's house is nearly empty at this point! LOL!

yeah, I've bought most of the big furniture from my villager's houses and I put up a lot of fossils for sale at re-tail so my villagers always buy them. Most of my villager's houses consists of nothing but fossils hahah.
