When I played NL, I enjoyed visiting my villagers' houses and opening their cupboards, wardrobes, etc. Usually I'd find an item and the villager would give it to me for free. I've yet to find anything when I open my villagers' cupboards (or refrigerators, lol) in NH. I keep getting the message "there's nothing in here". Has anyone found anything yet?

Once you gift your villagers clothes, the clothes will be in their wardrobes sometimes. You don't get to take them, it just shows you what's in there and you get a message like "that makes sense." Then you close the wardrobe lol

I have too!! I'm not sure if it's a glitch or if they share clothes with each other? But yeah it's odd

oh my god i JUST had this issue! ive only ever given Marina one clothing item, and she was wearing it...but her closet was full of Cookie's clothes? ive never seen Marina actually wear any of Cookie's clothes, but its still weird idk. maybe its because she doesnt have any clothes of herself in there rn? (since i dont think their standard outfits show up in closets)
i was really freaking out tbh, lowkey worried that my game was glitched or something like that! definitely weird, especially because i dont think any other villagers have the same issue on my island.

i was always super annoyed when theyd replace their furniture with clothes i gave them, but today i actually saw that Julian put a dress i gave him, that he previously displayed in his house, back in his closet! i mean, he did replace it on the floor with another clothing item, but luckily it looks like they can put displayed clothes in their closet if they choose to replace it with something else.
lol same! Sprinkle and Olive are swapping closets or something. Whenever i open one's closet i find the other's clothes, but they only wear what i originally gave them so it is all good.

What islanders will display in their homes seems to be randomly pulled from the pool of gifted times each time you visit them. I've seen stuff I've given my islanders displayed in different ways (e.g. on the shelf, then on a stool, then on the floor) or not at all. I suppose it's a way AC continues to push that sense of dynamism in the experience.
