There is no "3rd" gift you get after doing May Day Tour

I am sorry to say for those have been playing this game since 2020 there is no 3rd gift. For those who don't know back in the day this event (May Day Tour) was a day one limited time where you go on a Maze Tour and you get to do a Maze mini game. If you clear the maze you meet a special NPC (not gonna spoil who he is) and you get a gift from him. In 2020 he gave you

Now this year in 2022 when I went back to do the maze I found out that I got the same duplicate gift I got from 2020 when I first did this event. I am not sure if they changed it after the 2.0 update but the special NPC acts like he doesn't know who I am despite the fact that we already met back in 2020 and 2021. So if you're someone who was expecting a 3rd gift don't waste your time with this event.

I actually want another of the first gift, so that works for me. I get it if people don't want repeats, but since it's the only way (other than trading or buying from others) to get it, I'm good.

Well technically if you made a new user (Resident) on the island you can have them go do the May Day Tour and then you get multiple gifts of the item you want. This was back in day when the event was "day one locked" meaning that if you try to time travel backwards it would not appear again.

Thanks for the heads up. I still need the second gift for my characters on my second island. It is nice to know I don’t have to go and repeat the maze on my main island if I don’t want to.

Slightly unrelated to the purpose of your post but thank you for posting this because I forgot the May Day event was even a thing! I didn't have the game in time for this event back in 2020 and I seem to have completely missed it last year in 2021, so this will be the first year for me.

Just finished the maze for 2 Players that needed to complete it for items.
Player 3- It was her 2nd time and the special NPC knew her.
Player 4. It was his first time and the special NPC went thru the dialog. He mentioned Gift 1.
I don't time travel but hope Player 3 gets the 2nd year Gift 2.

Its a shame they have decided to stop bothering updating events, i know they said 2.0 was the last update but keeping events fun isnt really anything major.

I still have my 2020 item in my house so maybe i will give the duplicate to coco

I get thats its traditional in AC games to repeat events but the least they can do is update the event with new gifts and items. At least keep it more refreshing and not so repetitive.

It would also encourage some to keep an online membership if they done member only event updates?, they seem to have given up on NH once again just like NL

as much as it still is kinda disappointing and I wish they would update the items you get, I really didn't expect them to. I feel like their track record with this game just gives really low expectations in general in terms of updates. I don't mind them recycling items for events since then you can get dups, that it is kind of tradition. the thing is--it was tradition because the games didn't really have the capability to be updated as frequently as they could be now.

but yeah, when the game first came out I really thought we'd maybe get new items each holiday for at least a couple years. obviously that didn't happen and crushed any expectation for them to do fresh items for events/holidays. even getting the 2nd item from Rover the 2nd year was more than I would've expected from them.

And considering that there was no "2nd Anniversary Gift" Last month I already lost all hope for anything "new" for the remaining events for this year.

And just like NewLeaf every year you hit your 1 year anniversary you got the plaza tree clock furniture piece. I have so many of those that are just stored away. We shouldn't expect a new piece for the same event every year. I played the same events for NL every year and got the same furniture pieces. I'm not trying to defend and or smear any of the games, but it was the same with both games.

I know someone is going to make a point that we didn't get anything this year for NH's launch anniversary, or that they didn't even acknowledge your own anniversary when you started the game, but that's not the point I am making. Does it suck? Absolutely. But it makes sense to just get another photo or briefcase for Rover's event.

That maybe so, but again you should be able to get different gifts, because what sense does it make to replay the event again if you're just going to get the same stuff that you gotten last year?

The same could be said for the events for NewLeaf or any of the other older Animal Crossing titles.

Well I hope that gets addressed in the next AC game because in my personal opinion I think events should have different rewards each year just to have a reason to replay them.

The only two events I can think of needing to be replayed more times to get all the rewards were the fishing and bug tourney for NL. It was different compared to NH. This game's version is similar to one of the mini-games that you could play on the Club Tortimer island for medal rewards. In the mini-game you had a timer and had to catch as many bugs or fish as possible before the time ran out. And depending on how many points you got, that was how many medals you earned. Except for the island mini-game there were different version ranging from beginner to advanced. Some of the games required you to catch a certain fish say like sharks only or tree beetles only.

So NH's version was basically just a glorified mini-game. But in NL you were required to catch the biggest fish you could find. The fish actually had sizes. Your best bet to get 1st place was to catch as shark and give it to Chip. But if you did that right away you cheated yourself out of extra rare furniture pieces. The best way to do it was to slowly catch a bigger fish and donate it each time that day. Even doing that, I only would manage to get 2-4 pieces of his fish themed furniture (which was very whacky and whimsical compared to how generic Flick and CJs versions were) and so each time the tourney came around was a new chance to complete the set.

Yes you should get Prize 2. It was the 2nd time for Player 3 and Prize 2 arrived in the mail.
