The Resetti’s new job isn’t to rescue you if you get lost

are we sure we start at our house when we start up the game like in other animal crossing titles?

Based on some gameplay videos, yes.

Also wouldn't make much sense to undo such a feature concept in this game IMHO.

I can imagine it's just a ease of life addition and nothing more. Some people can be lazy like myself

With the size of the map being rather small, it would take more time to call Resetti, ask him to take you somewhere, and sit though the dialogue and cutscenes, than to just run there on foot.

Imo Cutscenes are easier then moving the joystick to a specific directions :p I'm super lazy

would be neat if resetti still does his old job. i played new leaf again & exited without saving and i laughed because it's been a while since i've gotten his lectures. they couldn't make him appear when we exit before the auto save goes off?

but anyway, i like using rescue services when i don't wanna dive back tbh.

I haven't used it. Im still shaking my head that they anticipate for ppl to get trap Nd saving em with an app instead of preventing it entirely.

I don?t think the ladder will break, I?m pretty sure only flimsy tools break. I doubt there is a way to get stuck on your island, unless you can place a villager?s home on a higher tier and you haven?t built an incline yet, then the villager approaches you and trades you something for your ladder. Thing is, villagers never asked for tools in previous games, so why start now?

Stuck terraforming? Nope. Just make a narrow spot on the river to jump over, or dig yourself out of terrain you may have surrounded yourself in (if that?s even possible).

The fact that they shoehorned Resetti into the game makes me hopeful that all previous NPC?s will be returning. Of all NPCs in the franchise, Resetti would be on the top of the list to be axed, as much as I love that mole. If the producers had enough mercy to keep Resetti employed with a moot fast traveling service, I don?t see them getting rid of the pelican crew, Reese/Cyrus, Shrunk, Harriet etc.

Maybe they?ve all been shoehorned into the game, or they?ve expanded on the services they once provided. Introducing features you can?t access until you?ve unlocked those characters.
The direct said "it's theoretically possible you could get lost or unable to move forward", which would indicate that getting lost is something that isn't likely to happen, but still possible.

An example would be to spawn in a co-op player and have them take your ladder or vaulting pole. When the player proceeds to pick up these items, they will be sent to the pickup box at Resident Services. You'd now be stuck there.

actually with all this argument that you can't get stuck, i can actually say i did get stuck in one area. so it's actually possible, very rare but it is. i thought i would never but i got stuck, in ground level nonetheless.

it's hard to explain it without pic or video so this area behind the fence you can get in on it, but for some reason it's impossible to exit it probably because of the bridge. idk i swear i tried. so to exit, i normally used my pole but this my second character and he never got one. also i can't push the ok motors sign because there's flower next to it.

but the time i got really stuck i went there to catch a rare butterfly, my pockets were full but my shovel broke beforehand. so when i tried to pick up the fence for my last pocket space, of course pressing Y would pick up the flowers instead of the fence but i did it anyway lol. i couldn't wear the tulip because i was wearing a hat. i could release the butterfly, but why would i do that when rescue feature exists? i was just like lesson learned, i'll avoid entering this area being accessible by planting a bush behind the tree so no one can get there.

the thing is, there are always other ways to exit by closing your game yada yada but they still have to do this for formality because it's possible to get stuck.

I find it useful to get saved when I'm getting chased by wasps sometimes. I forget to equip my bug net before I shake my trees from time to time.

Whoa, this thread got quite the bump :0

I don't think this was ever intended as a feature that players would be using regularly, just as a fail-safe for players that do manage to get themselves entirely stuck. (It's unlikely but very possible. Imagine moving your house up onto a cliff and throwing the ladder on the ground: when you load up the game next time you will be stuck. And if you then don't have the materials to craft new tools, it's nice to be able to fly to other parts of the island...)

That's a very nice strategy. I always have medicine in my storage but I might start doing this. :D

I usually call Resetti when I'm working on the area on my island which is the furthest from my house. This way I don't have to run all over my island back and forth if I need to get some materials. I know it would probably take me the same amount of time but I'm just lazy lol.

My sister got trapped at her house lmfao. She dropped her ladder at some point (to clear out her inventory) and later saved and quit the game without picking it back up. Her house was on a terraformed part of the island without any bridges or anything yet, so she couldn’t get off of it lol. Thankfully she had nmt lmfaoo
