The point of Club Tortimer

What do YOU use it for? I tried it out for the first time today. I got it thinking it'd be fun to have some social interaction (besides this awesome forum ;D)while doing the island bug catching/fishing thing. 2 out of the 3 people left so screen kept going to save screen. The one who stayed was friendly but he ran around like a mad man and scared the bugs off. So mostly it got in the way of those plans. I do like that they are doing more social/interactive things with AC I just don't see the usefulness atm not like MMOs where you need to play with people through dungeons and quests. I'll use it as a way to play with others but I could just as well go to the Train Station here and visit others' cool towns.

I use it when I'm getting bored of diving or fishing alone, and I want to talk to someone. I also use it to cycle the island items available, so I can get all the things I want and need.

i just go when i'm bored, it's like a tropical paradise, i like going to fill my fish collection as well

I mainly used it to get the CT exclusive items (yes i'm one of those people who would go to an island take one look at the items on sale and then leave) but I have had a few fun trips meeting people from other parts of the world and doing tours with them. It was just a little awkward though when the other people on island didn't speak the same language and I've had my fair share of those horror stories you see people post about where someone ruins it for everyone. I wouldn't recommend it if you just want to catch fish and bugs. It can be interesting if you want a change.

That makes sense why people come and go. I'll also look forward to international experiences.

Also just discovered I can play with my husband side by side and go to his island together to catch/fish and play tour games to earn the mermaid shelf I just discovered his island had! Almost have the set. Yay. I take back my frustration with Club Tortimer lol.

aside from socializing with people from other states and nations:

as mentioned, quite a few island items are exclusive to Club Tortimer, such as the whirlpool bath, ukulele, box of chocolates etc.

also, even for the non-exclusive items, if you go island-hopping you can find things unavailable that day at your own island instead of having to wait for the date to change;

also, there may be different island tours at CT that you like better or that are more profitable for earning medals.

these are all good reasons to visit CT even if you're not interested in socializing there...

yeah, i use the island to get fast money by catching all the rare bugs and fish, also for the furniture. tbh tho when im bored i go for the tours because sometimes they have some really good ones

I only used it a couple times. The people I played with seemed to be new players who didn't know much so it was sorta... Meh :/

They also kept asking me for my crown. And my clothes... Yes, my clothes. >_<

I don't use it that much anymore, usually only if I want to island op to buy things. I used to go often but just had a lot of bad experiences, I guess that's to be expected since most of people there will be 8-13 but still. Nobody ever wants to go on tours and there's no point fishing or bug catching as it's likely someone will just turn off. I have met some cool people there before, I just can't be bothered with people switching off every five minutes, and it's pretty boring, i'd rather just go to the island with my sibs and go on tours

I use it to interact with people due to the fact I have two brothers in which neither are interested in animal crossing, I also use it to compete because when I get bored doing tours alone its fun doing it with others, and also only do it with ppl from your country so you know that they are in the same time zone, it actually is really helpful because when I do international I get swapped around and literally every 5 secs it says someone is leaving or someone is coming

When I first became a member of Club Tortimer, I stayed at the island to interact with people and catch those rare insects that appear during the nighttime. Some of the people that I meet at the island want to play tours with me and we have a great time playing multiple tours to earn medals. The most common thing that I've seen in the island is that many people catch bugs to sell them at Re-Tail. I also catch bugs too during my free time when I'm playing ACNL.

Haven't been to CT for many months, and suddenly felt brave & decided to go yesterday, just to my own region.
I find social interaction difficult, especially if I haven't got any visual clues as to how the other person is reacting.
There was another girl player there, she said hi, and I froze, and just left - terribly rude but I couldn't deal with it for some reason, probably my last attempt at CT!
