The Japanese Version

Hi there. This is my first forum post here on The Bell Tree.

I recently procured a copy of the finalized Japanese version of Animal Crossing for the Nintendo GameCube. In late January, after I finish my one year of consecutively playing the English version, I will begin playing the Japanese one from scratch. If possible, I'd like to make a few friends who also frequent this version of the game.

Do you play the Japanese version? If not, do you play the English version? I'd like to make friends and trade items nonetheless.

Zelda Spirit Tracks turned out to be too hard for me in japanese, Im scared of playing more games in japanese after that lol

I think I saw kanji in some Japanese screenshots, but it all had furigana. C:

I would play in Japanese, but, the thing is, I don't really know Japanese. I can read hiragana and katakana, but I only am able to read it -- I haven't got a clue what any of it means. I played Pokemon White version when it came out in Japanese, but that's different; I've played many Pokemon games, so I was able to just go through the storyline without reading anything. I'd never be able to play Animal Crossing without knowing what everyone was saying...

I experienced something similar, for example pokemon is in kana only and it drives me crazy because I speak basic japanese so I really struggle with context so kanji usually comes in to save my butt when I dont get whats going on XD

So yeah, I think if ACNL has some kanji in it I think it should be more friendly, at least for me, because of the simple themes the game has and usually the topics that the villagers talk should be easier to understand than the epic battle of the Goddesses and the maleficent evil Lord of the Wicked Shadows of evilness revenge in the Zelda game. (gosh there's a lot of kanji for evil synonyms )
