The idea came to me last night as I was trying to fall asleep.

I haven't been sure what to do with the shout box and/or potential chat room that doesn't exist. I just think the shout box looks ugly on the main page.

People have been talking about the connection between the shout box and the blog. So what if the shout box was moved to the top of the Blog Tree page? People would have to click Blog Tree to chat in it, and of course, use the blogs.

I don't know, what do you think?

I prefer that idea because it's making the forum home look quite ugly imo.

Doesn't bother me, probably be easier to switch between the blog tree and new posts instead of scrolling all the way to the bottom of the forum home every time anyway.

What difference does it make? Before you had to go to the forum home to chat (where nothing is located), plus you had to scroll all the way down. Now you can just tab into the blog page.

But you often visit the home page to look for threads, so you use that WAY more than the Blog Page.

i had the shoutbox minimized, like i have the rest of the things on the "home page"

i don't think it looked gaudy, since i had it closed, more or less. but sure, whatever.

edit: just went to read a blog, and didn't like how the shoutbox looked there. seems out of place, since the reason i was there was a blog, and it's at the top of the page/first thing i see..

your choice ultimately as to where you like it, and mine's minimized either way (so it won't bother me), but i don't think it really fits there. I think the best place would be front page, down below the rest of the topics. or it could also be at the top, but since it doesn't look as pretty as the rest of the skin, totally understandable to have it elsewhere.
