I'm not the only one who noticed, but I not sure if anyone really pointed it out. Not that there is a need to do so, but I was a little bored and wanted to spark a discussion that might hopefully, but unlikely (lol) change something.

I just wanted to know what is, if there is, the stance of the In game bells. It seems the trading with in game bells is non existence. Or at least getting to that point. TBT Market place is excluded from this. For obvious reasons. Lol.

I barely see trades gone through with in game bells. I see the bells offered, but they usually finish with BTB. The only place that still uses igb is the Villager Trading Thread and that is slowly being consumed by the btb.

What I'm getting at is is there some sort of way we can fix this? Lol. I can see why the btb is sought after, but this is a little too much. XD

It's more convenient to use btb. I use igb in the Re-tail forum though because i'm buying something in game like furniture. I buy dlc with btb because it's more expensive. Villagers are also easier to buy with btb because it's a quicker transaction so cyclers can get back to cycling and it also ensures no one will get scammed

I buy most of my items with in-game bells! I don't think it's bad to trade with tbt as it is of high-value to a lot of people. I wouldn't say that anyone particularly has a stance on IGB, just probably a preference c:

yes, it definitely depends. I agree, it's far easier to buy villagers with tbt.

I don't use my BTB anything, so I'll just buy in game stuff with it, it's easier to earn than IGB..

I agree with daniduckyface. So far, I've only used IGB for my shops/selling threads in re-tail, but TBT is just so much quicker and more safe. In my cycling thread I list TBT price too, but it is possible to convert these prices into IGB. I think it's because I don't honestly know what to do with all my IGB. There is not much furniture in-game that I want anymore, but you can buy art for TBT. Yeah.

It’s turned out that way for a few reasons. First, the reddit marketplace for villagers and items has seen a massive drop off in people on it recently. Before most of my transactions were on reddit which are always in game bells. TBT Forums has kept a shockingly good community now almost 2 years into the game. Second, it’s just easier. Nothing sucks quite as much as the long back and forth for 7 figure villager sales………

And finally, this is the big one. In game bells just don’t mean anything to most players now… No currency has “Intrinsic Value”, especially game currency. When most people that have been playing for so long probably have maxxed bank accounts it gets to the point where bells can’t buy them anything. What does have value is prestige among the community which people can get with TBT currency.

I’m personally glad that this other currency exists otherwise a lot of people might not be making transactions.

The problem now is that everyone is dirty rich in IGB. It's been quite some time for people to just abuse the island or turnips to make hefty profits. Nkbody needs IGB anymore, but many are short in TBTB. So, the community just starts trading with that instead.
