A few years back when the 3DS came out, I told myself no way am I buying a 3DS. NO WAY. Who needs the 3D? It's just another remade DS. I already have a DSi. What can they possibly make with it? It's too much money. I'm done with these video games.
Well, guess what. My Pikachu 3DS XL is sitting next to me as I type this.
Games will make people buy this system. Animal Crossing. Pokemon X & Y. Oh my gosh, sales are going to SCREAM when X and Y come out.
The PSP/PSV sucks. XBOX One and PS4 systems are probably going to be $700+ on launch. Do you think the average family is going to shell out $700 for a new gaming system this Christmas? Not counting $50 controllers and $60 (maybe $70?) games? Also not counting 50" LCD or LED TVs costing almost $1000 depending on models.
What's that 3DS system for $200? Games that are only $30-$35 each? It's 3D? Mario? Pokemon? Animal Crossing? Mario Kart? That's cool! Here little Timmy, Merry Christmas, it's a 3DS.
For those aged 20 to 30, nostalgia is setting in. They'll want to buy a 3DS. And they will. Like me.
More hardware sales = more developers = more great games. And it's starting next Sunday with New Leaf.
Animal Crossing is up to, what now, 240,000 preorders? Sales for the 3DS are already up 12% while almost every other system is flat? That's insane.
I'm glad to be part of the 3DS family.
