I'm currently doing tours on the island so I can unlock Club Tortimer, but the more I read about it the less I want to go.. Have any of you had good experiences there? Apart from buying special things, what's the point? It seems like most people stay away from it because of trolls.

I only went to Club Tortimer once. When I started an Island Tour, somebody immediately flipped the Wi-fi switch. There really isn't a difference between your island and Club Tortimer, except for the trashy kids that ruin peoples' games.

The people that Ive run into the past couple days were all really nice, and we did tours and fished. I too have heard really bad stories about it, but maybe I just lucked out.

Someone went to Club Tortimer yesterday. Here is what happened:

On a more serious note, I have come across a few 'eccentrics,' but none of the horror stories so far. I would just go on a few tours with the random person there and then go home, no problem.

I never had a problem with any of the island visitors (I guess I consider myself lucky) but there were two times when I went on a tour and the person was mad at me for some reason and wouldn't help with the tour. I have no idea why though. :?

I rarely go there, but I have had the game for over a year and have personally never had any bad experiences. I warn you, however-be careful. I usually stick to my own part of the globe, since the amount of visitors will be more limited.

i don't have the pass v.v

but tbh , i don't really care after all the comments people have said about it xD

I've only gone a few times. Usually just to check if there's any exclusive things I'd like to buy, then leave. However, someone will usually has the items for sale here as well.

I've never had any problems with anyone at CT,(I prob lucked out )but I've had a few random people(prob like 10 year olds or something) beg for bells, and I usually just say no.

Remember though that you can always block annoying and horrible players and never have to see them on the Island again. :)

I only did it to cycle through the various souvenirs and tours (for the medals to buy the souvenirs). I haven't done it in a long time though. The only souvenirs I have not been able to find are the kappa shirt and pants.

I don't reccomend using Club Tortimer for extra beetle/shark farming in fear of some people scaring them away or hitting their wi-fi switch. Normal island time is enough since you're alone.

I may have had some less than pleasant experiences with it, but that's no reason to write it off completely! I still go and I still enjoy doing tours with others from time to time. There's plenty of nice people out there and you can't let others' poor experiences or even one or two of your own set you back. It can be a lot of fun when you play with nice people.

That said, if you're looking for people that aren't trolls, this is a good site to look for groups to tour with! There's a "Wi-Fi feedback" system here, which will help you and others find people who can be trusted for trades, tours, and everything else that can be done through a multiple connection experience. Definitely give it a go!

I can say that about 90% of my visits have been either positive or at least neutral. If it's neutral it's usually somebody that doesn't talk but then I can just catch bugs/fish instead. A few good experiences include multiple tours with people that went really well, meeting people who have very nice towns, finding people with good crack(conversation) late at night whether it be nonsense or considering existence. Bad experiences which recently especially has been rare include stupid kids digging holes all over the island, kids chopping down all the trees just 'cos, being pressured by twelve year olds to "marry them" who then turn their wifi off when you say no, and of course the beggars who seem to think you owe them something.

As I said though, "bad" encounters are generally few and far between, as you find anywhere you go. I've enjoyed the game a lot more and continued going back through going online with it than I would have otherwise done, so obviously I'd definitely say it's worth it. If you don't like someone(beggars, kids etc)/they say something you don't like, you can block them and leave, if you get a "troll" stopping you from leaving you can either sit it out or just Wi-Fi off instead of stressing about it. If the events you find on the island are "horror stories" or seriously distressing, I sure wish my life was as happy/easy as yours. :)

I just go on CT if I'm looking for rare stuff. I've had some okay experiences there. Most people I've met are younger than me and they're pretty nice and just want to talk. I've only met a few rude and annoying people who mostly ask for bells and flip the switch if you tell them you don't have bells. LOL there was also a time when someone let me buy a rare item first and then when I was about to leave, flipped the switch. -__-

I have met one user who was on the island with a jap guy and then I arrived and we started talking. She told me she liked my dress(which was just from Ables) and was wondering if I could sell it to her. I said I would give it to her for free if she could tell me where I could drop it. After I gave it to her, she started dropping millions of bells. :O and I told her it was too much but she said it was just right. She then said goodbye and thanked me for the dress (ofc, I also thanked her lol). :)

There are a lot of butthurt people there. If you don't say hi, some people will get mad/sad to the point where they might flip the wifi switch if youl leave.

A lot of people will ask you if you're rich, or check your badges then ask you.

A lot of people there are irritating af. I hate when people say "Hey" as if we talked before, or "Hi!!!". And I hate when people ask to do a tour then get sad when I say no. Then force me to play with them.

Ah, yeah, I'm going to second this, too. Some people are nice and very polite, but probably the majority that I've come across have fit the "neutral" category. Some don't greet/respond to greetings, but that's okay, too. Usually they just leave on their own when they feel like it and it doesn't stop more people from coming to the island if there's room (with four max). And you'll rarely go for too long without someone asking if you want to be friends/go on some tours together. Via the international connection, I've met a fair number of very nice Japanese players, too. Some of them even speak English pretty well and are easy to communicate with/fun to talk to. In the end, I've made a few really nice friends through it, so even if some of your experiences aren't the greatest, I think you'll have some that you find were worth the time. : )

There can be lots of fun people to play tours with and make friends with but there is also lots of people that will either beg for bells, treat you badly, and/or try to trap you on the island until they get bells from you.
My advice if you go, if you have any sort of Gracie Grace clothing items or a crown, do not wear it on Club Tortimer, moochers fly over to people that have enough bells to spend on those items ;v;
But honestly its a 50/50 chance of meeting cool or bad people, I usually go to try to get premium items!

and like rosabelle said, there could be very generous people that give out free goodies! :)
