Do you have a favorite card or deck? Feel free to discuss Tarot in depth if you wish as well. I'm no master but I'll answer what I can. I've been reading for a little over two years.

Do note this is not a thread about religion or your inherent spiritual practices. This is simply about Tarot.

I've done a bit of tarot ever since Christmas. I still refer to my mini pocket guide, but I can expand more in depth on what the definitions of the cards could also mean. I used to be a baby witch

I still have to use books for certain scenarios and cards and card combinations. I also really dislike traditional decks though (rider-waite). I currently use the Deviant Moon deck and I really enjoy it. I dislike how binary in general traditional rider-waite decks can be. I've been intending to learn more about numerology and apply it to my readings as well. Tarot is deep, so don't ever feel like you're a bad reader because you need references. We can't remember everything.

I'm definitely still learning, possibly because I usually turn to my pendulum instead of my deck.

I have a number of decks, most of them are simply because I love the artwork (the Golden Botticelli, Dreamscapes, Gilded Tarot) or are quirky/fandom (Abbey Wonderland, Rosales Hello Kitty).

My favorite deck is the Halloween Tarot. It's fun, funky, and easy to read.

@Imbri can I request some pictures of the Halloween deck? You don't need to show me the whole deck but I'd love to see some of your favorites. I'm the basic Halloween millenial. 🖤

Sure, if you don't mind waiting until tomorrow. I'm on my phone today, which makes pictures a pain. :)

Take your time, that's the best thing about forums like this compared to what's more common today; there's no pressure for immediate response. My laptop died recently so I only have my phone, I feel your pain. I'll probably post some pics of mine later tonight anyway.

i really love tarot cards; i'm still learning how to read them (if anyone knows a good website/book for beginners lmk) but i got this gorgeous deck a few months ago. i find the whole thing super fascinating and would love to actually know what i'm doing one day, lol.

That really is a nice looking deck. I was taught that tarot decks work best when they are gifted to you and not purchased for yourself, but there are all sorts of tarot traditions that conflict, so I think it's down to your own perspective. Feel free to show off some of your personal favorites from the set if you feel inclined. My DMs are open if you have any questions, like I said I'm not some kind of master of the craft but I do know a lot more than most beginners~

I haven't really kept up with my tarot reading, but I was heavily into it during high school and most of my 20's. My grandmother and great grandmother both used to do readings with a regular deck of playing cards, so my grandmother taught me how to do that when I was about 12 or 13. I think I got my first traditional Rider-Waiter tarot deck when I was around 15 and I used that one for many years before branching out to other decks.

My two favorite decks are:

The Mythic Tarot which is based on Greek Mythology

Legend The Arthurian Tarot which is based on the legend of King Arthur

Both of them have beautiful artwork and I found that by using a deck based on stories I was familiar with, I had an easier time divining the true meanings of the cards without having to refer to the guides as much.

True story, the tarot cards played in a role in my marriage. When I was first starting to date my husband, he got an offer to move to another state 6-8 hours away. He told me the only thing that would keep him here was me, but since we were just starting out, I wasn't ready to make that commitment yet and was afraid of holding him back. So I turned to my tarot cards and through multiple readings, I always got the same answer. The cards told me that a journey was imminent but that he would return. I let him go to do what he needed to do wondering if I would ever see him again. We still kept in touch via email (this was before texting was a big thing), but I encouraged him to live his life. About six months after he had moved away, an emergency situation caused him to have to move back home. We resumed dating and eventually got married.

Oh my god, yesss dude I collect them LOL. I'm not sure which is my favorite but I have some fun ones! Happy Tarot, Mystical Cats Tarot, Etruscan Tarot, Vice Versa Tarot, Mucha Tarot, etc. Like I said I hoard them its one of my weirdnesses lol

Would LOVE an animal crossing tarot, especially if it had like, multiple Tom Nook cards XD

Tom Nook would be The Devil
Or perhaps the Ace of Pentacles

I've never done tarot myself before, but I have commissioned readings from people in the past. There are a couple threads (or at least, were) on Flight Rising where people will do it for you. I always found their readings to be insightful and accurate, which is crazy considering the person on the other end of the computer knows nothing about me! I have found it a bit difficult to interpret the result of the readings though.

I think some of the card sets are very pretty, but I don't know if I would personally read them enough to justify buying a nice set for myself. I've seen fandom based tarot cards before that were cool, but I'm not sure if that would be considered inappropriate given that tarot seems to have a more serious nature? I know people have designed/sell Animal Crossing tarot for example!
