System Menu 4.3 has been released.

I don't really use it much anyways. And there will be a fix for HB.

So, that's it? Just to get rid of homebrew? Because if it is: Wow, they couldn't even try to put something in to bring players back to the wii.

Ehh, I don't use homebrew anymore anyway so I don't care. I should probably delete the empty channel though. Just in case.

Do you have to update to play online and stuff? I have so many mods on my Wii.
If this is the case, don't even think about updating your Wii. Wait until Team Twiizers has a workaround, k?

Pretty sure you don't have to update for anything at the moment, but the update will likely be included on the discs of future games, forcing you to update before you can play them.

But there will be a fix for it within the next few days, lol.

4.3U/E/J/K will likely ship on the games announced at E3. If there isn't a fix by then, which I highly doubt, Gecko OS will bypass disc-based updates. But, of course, you'd have to be on 4.2 or lower.

I heard something about the update doing nothing but blocking out homebrew users.

the argument had something to do with punishing the users who don't use the homebrew by lying to them about an "update" which only exists to kick out those who use homebrew, who will get around it anyway. something about this not being the way to handle piracy, because it does nothing to stop it, and only stops the homebrew users. :/

*edit* wait no it was homebrew users unable to use homebrew because of it, until they fixed it, but the update was because of pirating, which is bad

sad any way you look at it, really.

assuming you have emotion, and look/focus/think about it, of course.

otherwise, lolwut, update?

Well as long as I can take other save files from WiiSaves and GameFAQs without getting my Wii busted I'm fine.

I tried to access Wii Shop Channel with version 4.2 today, and I can't use it. I had to jump into the version 4.3. Luckily, I don't care much about "hacking" anymore.
I was hoping for much more features than what 4.3 offered. Disappointing...

What does 4.3 offer?

This update basically didn't give any new feature, beside a plethora of measures taken to counter "hacking".
Maybe they added support for future games, such as Wii Vitality Sensor, but I highly doubt it, seeing it didn't got a release date.

I updated last night. <_<

Only because the flashing light woke me up at midnight! THANK YOU NINTENDO! :throwingrottenapples:

There were other things added besides blocking homebrew. It's just all behind the scenes stuff that effect the system's performance, and possibly adding new features that will be put to use in the future. I was reading something about a webcam feature or something that this update would make possible. Anyway, the update wasn't sent out solely to stop homebrew. That's just the only thing that people notice.
