I'm trying to do a japanese-styled (or mostly oriental) tea/breakfast room ATM. Looks like this.

I'm though kind of new to decorating rooms from complete groundup as I didn't do much so in WW and haven't bothered still in my NL. So I could use suggestion to improve this room. What sets() and furniture you suggest?

Ooh! Cool idea!
Personally, I like the gold screen wall and planked tatami combination for wall and floor. It doesn't clutter the room with too many colors and patterns and adds a really good geometric feel to the room.
As for furniture, I'd get a low table or a square table as your centerpiece and cushions on either side to emulate an oriental way of sitting rather than chairs. I'd also replace the fruit with some good oriental foods like dango, kimbap plate, new years noodles, rce cake, samgyetang, songpyeon, sushi platter etc. I like your incorporation of bonsai as well ^^ Maybe put them on a tea table?
And for lighting, try the blossom lantern, exotic lamp, paper lamps, or even the red tasseled lantern. The sconce seems too Western imo, but it could look good with the gold screen wall.

I've made a list of items I think would look good here. I have a lot of these things cataloged and can order them for you as well! I also think I have some extra japanese art.

Honestly my immediate thought was of the houses in Pokemon Omega Ruby/Ruby. They have a very oriental feel, and I feel like that could apply here. I can't find an image online so I just snapped one with my phone at the house I was closest too in game--it's not very good quality, but I think you can tell what I mean:

You could very easy emulate this with a table, cushions, the tea tansu/stair dresser and paper lanterns!

Some pretty good ideas up there! The game has lots of stuff like the kotatsu to use. Good luck on your breakfast room! Just an aside, I'm Asian-American, and I'd advise you to please not use the word "oriental". Thanks!

Sure, I apologize! I think I get why when remembering my history courses. Does "Eastern" work then?
