Hi everyone, this is my first post here - been lurking for a little while but fancied joining in today. :) I'm not really big on forums so I'm not sure how active I'll be, but I just wanted to say hello first! :) Hi!

Anyway - this is my issue.
I got a New 3DS, and when transferring my content over, I lost my save file/town, which I've had since the game's release (mine was a digital copy). I know other people have had this issue, and I did everything I could to get it back before finally giving up and starting over.

Does anyone else find it oddly :mad:stressful to start over in AC?
I started again, with the same town name, but I'm finding it hard to feel motivated enough to actually play. I was upset initially about losing my original town, but I thought it would be fun to start again and really make the most of the experience (New Leaf was the first AC game I really got into, so I was still a little new to the style when I started!). So, even though I know I'll love playing again when I actually start, I'm still stressed that things aren't in the right place and that it'll take a while for me to get going again. I don't mind building up slowly, but little annoyances are hindering me!
Probably sounds a little bit silly, actually! But I was curious to see if I'm alone in this or not :)

I'd reset again, but I'm pretty happy with the villagers - Claudia, Kid Cat and Tia are all starters and they're adorable. :) I love New Leaf, despite the annoyance of losing my original save, and I'm excited to join in the fun again eventually!

Sorry about your town, I don't find it stressful to start over if you choose to start over. lol

Although, I would have very little motivation to play if it reset on its own.

I purposely deleted my old town Tokyo because I didnt like the layout, now my new town Abstract is actually looking better then my old town.

I'm sorry about your town! I know exactly how you feel! the same happened to me and I stopped playing the game for over a month. Iwas unhappy with my new villagers and the town map options were all wrong. and I had paid off my house loans completely. It was chaotic. I was super pissed. But after a while I gave it a chance and after getting rid of my angryness and frustration I'm currently happy with my town. Slowly its coming together.

I found it a little stressful when I reset, yeah. But ultimately it would have been much more stressful to try and keep going with my original town, which had a pretty "blah" map and only two dreamie villagers. I figured it was a "now or never" type situation and I don't regret it at all.

The most stressful part was transferring over everything I wanted to keep (items, bells etc) since I had to get someone (Valval here on the forums! She's a darling) to open their town and basically just let me dump everything all over the ground, wait for me to find a map I liked, then come back and pick everything up again. I felt bad having to involve someone else with my restarting shenanigans and I was rushing hardcore because I didn't want to be an inconvenience for any longer than was absolutely necessary, even if it ultimately wasn't a really big deal at all.

But then again, I CHOSE to reset, so I see where your frustrations are coming from. Losing a save would put me off the game for a while, honestly; I put so much effort and time into getting my dreamies and setting up my house and whatnot that I wouldn't want to even THINK about playing New Leaf until I'd had a good, long break from it. Maybe consider taking a week off or something? It might help, you never know!

I unintentionally lost my save too last month, so I know it can be rough starting over again when you didn't choose to in the first place. Granted, I haven't had the game for nearly as long, but I was still pretty upset for a while. While my new town is still not quite where my old town was, I'm feeling much better about it now. Plus, if you weren't happy about the positions of permanent PWPs in your old town, you now have a chance to plan out their new locations. Good luck with your new town!
