Streetpass personal message question

Bit of a complicated question -

When sending someone a message over streetpass (as in, you've passed them multiple times and sent them a personal thing) how do you know if it's been received? First, I wrote the personal message and confirmed it and all that, it said it'd be sent to them next time we passed. All good. Then we passed again and nothing came up on my side (like I expected the pink speech bubble to come up with my personal message). It just came up with my normal greeting and no mention of the personal thing that I had sent previously.

So basically, did they receive it? Shouldn't that pink bubble have come up on my side this time to show that they're now getting, or does it only show up when I first send it?

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say here.
Streetpass messaging is such a pain and I don't wanna resend it incase they got it and just choose not to reply

Uhh I don't think you will see your personal message come up.

You should see your personal message -- I know when I'm streetpassing with someone I know you see both sides of the "conversation". Sometimes it does drop out -- but I'm not sure why/when.

StreetPass 1 prep your message for sending, StreetPass 2 will be normal on your end but they will see your message.

You were right, the message on my side didn't show up until they replied. It did go through though.
