Hi!

I was reading about the balloons you get with street pass but I don't understand... To get balloons you have to download a house 6 or 7 times?? How does that work? How likely will it be you run into the same person 6 times while being in a city? Or doesn't it work that way?

I think normal balloons start at the second Street Pass? I have to double check that. Bunny/Heart balloons do take a few more times, though.

And yes, you do have to run into the same person multiple times. As for how this works, there are a few ways. My main method right now is my little brother, since I'm home for winter break. I make him Streetpass me at least once a day. My usual main method is keeping my 3DS in sleep mode while I'm walking around my university. I've ended up Streetpassing a lot of people like that, and several of them 2-3 times.

Other than just keeping your 3DS in sleep mode wherever you go, there's really not much else I can think of for getting the balloons on your own. I do see them for sale a lot in the Re-Tail forum, so there's always that.

I really wish there were easier ways to get the balloons since not everyone knows someone else with a copy of the game/can Streetpass the same people by chance while walking around.

Indeed, I don't know people around me who play the game and I don't live in a big city so it's hard for me to get them

I don't know if this will be helpful, but I'll share anyway. I have one person in my showcase that I did not speak to the last time it was streetpassed, and every new day I enter the showcase, she will have cycled to the next item. So the game treats it like a new streetpass, because I haven't spoken to her.
Of course after your first visit to the showcase, the person will have moved away from the entrance and into the area with the houses. If you have a lot of houses (sounds like you don't), the person might not be walking around there, so you'll have to keep trying (I think it changes every day who's walking around). Now, I don't know if this will work if you've never streetpassed the same person more than once, but try it next time. It might work. And don't talk to them until they don't have the item you want. This would only work once per streetpass person.

That is interesting -- I have seen people walking around in the house areas with stuff because I missed speaking to them; but I've always just collected the stuff from them. So you're saying that the item they hold will cycle? Does it go through the whole set or just the stuff available to the # of streetpasses you have with them? I'm constantly picking up basics like bubbles and tweeters and just tossing them; I definitely have to try this.

That's a good question, which I can't answer. I've streetpassed this character numerous times, so I've unlocked all the goodies. I wouldn't be surprised if it'll only cycle the things you've unlocked, but it's definitely worth finding out.
