Read that you can streetpass the two 3DS every 8 hours. You just need to clear the Mii Plaza after you tag both.
I sometime forget and than they wouldn't tag the next day. Someone got the gold using 3 3DS. One was her boyfriends.

Pretty much everyone around where I live either think video games are the devil or for little kids, hence no 3DS's besides mine. The Streetpass badge will probably elude me for eternity as well.

Also take advantage of the national streetpass weekends (usually holiday weekends) where you'll get streetpasses from all over the world if you go somewhere with a nintendo zone or whatever. If you have access to your wifi SSID either change it or create a guest network and call it attwifi. I get 30+ streetpasses a day on those weekends without leaving the house.
I live near a University, so from going to class/work I get about 7-8 streetpasses a day. 4-5 are usually animal crossing related. I'd also suggest going to malls or conventions (especially conventions, those are streetpass heaven).
1000 is still pretty high though. Seems like that would take years.

Also look up if there is any nintendo hot spots near you! The Mcdonalds by my house is one and you'll street pass the last 6 people who were there.

Ever since I started up college I've been able to get a lot of Streetpasses, my high school was allergic to fun or something. Usually 5-6~ of the Streetpasses are ACNL ones too, I got the Bronze Streetpass badge back in November! Never give up hope, just try new places!
Okay, I have the 1,000 tag badges in both my NA and Japanese copies, over 900 of them earned myself. One, you need 2 copies as well, and you do NOT have to clear out the StreetPass plaza on the 3DS, but you DO have to clear out the HHS plaza to get the tags. So, turn them on, put them in sleep mode, get the green light, start the game, go to the plaza- get the item if you wish, they're random, then you've gotten the tag. However, with just 2 systems, it will take you over a year of daily tags, because in theory you can get 3 a day, but in reality, you're only going to manage 2, because it literally HAS to be AT LEAST 8 hours, meaning they have to tag to the 8th hour by the second, meaning it'll take 24 hours, 3 seconds to get 3, so you can only mathematically get 2.5 in a 24 hour period on average because of the minimum. You can see how after a year, that's only 730 tags.
You really need 3 systems, because you can do what I did, play musical systems where you tag 2 of them, then switch. For example I'll use the 3 variants to make it easy. Put one copy into the XL, and the other into the 2DS. Tag them. Make sure to go to the HHS plaza and empty it out, otherwise the game may not recognize those tags! Then take out the XL one, put it in the 3DS one, tag the 2DS and 3DS. Then, take out the 2DS one, put it into the 3DS, and tag the 3DS and the XL. Eight hours later, repeat. That'll give you 6 tags a day! Yes, you need 3 systems, and 2 games and play musical systems constantly switching. It'll also drastically lower your average playtime, because you're only "playing" for like a minute to get the HHS cleared out.

What's it mean to empty out the HH plaza? Just talking to the villagers in the main circle or something else?
You don't have to go to the HHS plaza or the streetpass plaza. I have the gold streetpass badge on two of my three 3DSes and I *never* visit either plaza. All you have to do is open your 3DS when the Animal Crossing title screen is displayed. That turns out the green light. Okay, to be safe, maybe you should actually start the game. But, don't worry about the plaza. One of my systems, I don't think I've been to the plaza even one time and the only reason that game is silver and not gold is because I haven't played it at all in ages.

Do you have 2 3DS that you tag? My 2 3DS wouldn't tag each other if I forget to clear the streetpass plaza. It's been 24 hours since the last tag and nothing happens.

If you have more than one ACNL game on a 3DS make sure to open the game that's working on the badge.
Early on my guest town was getting a lot of tags because I opened it first. My main town lost abunch of tags.
I play a town on one 3DS and than leave it closed at the end. Open the other 3DS and load the mayor. Leave the 3DS closed and wait for the tag. No worrying about another town getting the tag.

I did both bronze and silver badge in 2 days when I went to a convention, it was great. I live in the Netherlands and the only things to streetpass here are cows, but they don't have 3ds... weird...
I've had two streetpasses, so far because of my second 3DS.
My question, can you only streetpass every 24 hours? I mean getting one streetpass per day? Or can you get multiple streetpasses from the same 3DS the same day?
If it's only once every 24 hours, that would mean it will take me TWO years to get that streetpass badge!

Yes you can because I have gotten the Gold Streetpass badge on 2 of my games.
You need at least 2 3ds and 2 ACNL games. I happen to have 3 of each.
You have to have the HHA Showcase unlocked with Digby for each game.
And you can only streetpass the same 3ds every 8 hours.
Make sure that the character you are trying to get the badge for is the one that their house shows up thru the streetpassing.
My sister had been streetpassing with me (all 3 of my games) to get the Bronze badge and couldn't understand why after about 125 streetpasses she hadn't gotten the badge. Found out that it was one of her side character's house that was being sent out thru Streetpass and as soon as that side character came out of their house Phinnes was there to give him the Bronze Streetpass Badge.
It will take some time, but it can be done.

You can streetpass the same 3ds about every 8 hours, so you can get about 3 a day. I say "about" because it really takes 8 hours and a few minutes for them to streetpass each time, so in a week you wouldn't get 21 (3 x 7) streetpasses, maybe 20.
There were times that my 3ds wouldn't streetpass each other even though it had been 12+ hours. Weird glitch or something.
