I am just wondering if any cyclers here have any routines or rituals that fellow cyclers might not necessarily consider 'normal.'

As for what prompted this topic: I gave O'Hare away a moment ago. After the person adopting left, I went back to O'Hare's house to make sure he moved out (he did). This is something I have been doing after every adoption for the last few months after one person adopting (those months ago) went to the house of a villager he claimed to want, talked to the villager, confirmed to me he got the villager, etc. In other words, there was nothing unusual about the visitor's behavior, so the visit seemed like the usual successful adoption.

But for some reason I went back to the villager's house and noticed he was still there. I sent a VM to the person adopting to ask if he still wanted the villager, and maybe just needed room first, etc. But there was no reply.

So that would explain my habit of checking the house of the adopted villager every time, to make sure I do not 'void' a villager if it can be helped, especially when people are lining up for that villager (as was the case for the villager alluded to above).

How about other cyclers here? Any 'unusual' habits during cycling?

I'm not a cycler myself (yet), but I actually do the same thing! It's not really to check if it's successful for me, it's more of a sentiment thing. I always get a little sad to see them go, and I usually check to see if they're really gone.
Another thing I have a habit of doing is putting a public works project where the house once stood, and usually one they suggested. Poncho (who I'm trying to get again, I've decided I miss him too much) has an instrument shelter there, Gabi has a blue bench, Sally's is an illuminated heart, and Rolf (who's freshly out and is awaiting project completion) has a drinking fountain. I probably won't do the same thing when I get my cycling town, but it's a thought.

My cycle town is on a game that's prone to corrupting, so don't care for it a lot. But when a villager places their house near mine, I'll try really hard to give them a home! I figure they must really want a mayor who will love them :)

When I cycle, I let all the flowers, fossils, gyroids, and weeds take over. Then when someone finally moves and gets adopted/voided, I go through and fix it all.

Not really strange, I guess.
