I was thinking of trying it, I'm wondering if the game is actually fun and worth playing? Also, does anyone have any recommendations of fun simulation games like animal crossing building towns and etc? also has anyone played Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies? Is that also worth it?

They aren't like ACNL, but Mario kart 7, Tomodachi Life, Pokemon Y, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, those are some fun games, and Story of Seasons looks like a fun game. :)

I'm a longtime fan of Harvest Moon, so I've enjoyed SoS a lot. It feels like the older games in that it doesn't have much of a set plot, but it also has new features that make it that much better. As for Dual Destinies, I loved it, but I'd recommend that you play the other games in the series before you start DD, if you haven't already. It doesn't make a terribly big difference, but I think it enhances the experience.

I haven't played Story of Seasons personally, but I think you can pursue love interests as well as customize your character in game. It might be fun if you like having those kinds of features. I'd recommend watching a little bit of a walkthrough before deciding, however... I can't imagine spending money on a game I don't know too well about.

As for other games similar to Animal Crossing, I've found Rune Factory 4 and Fantasy Life to be pretty enjoyable.

Rune Factory is a bit of farming mixed with RPG elements. You can grow crops, explore, fight monsters, craft stuff, and even decorate your room a little. There's also more dating things going on so if you like that it's a plus? The bachelors are pretty boring though so I'd either recommend a male character for the bachelorettes or just.... not. There a cat guy that everyone seems to go for, however.

I think Fantasy Life is more fun since you get to customize your character and take on different skills known as a "Life." There's 16 total of them, I believe, including your regular mage and paladin type deal. You can craft weapons, furniture, and even dye said furniture to decorate your room with. If the first house they give you is not big enough, you can just buy a new one to live in. There's different countries to explore in, too. Rune Factory is also similar in this way. However, both games tend to be a hit or miss with a lot of people, so I'd still recommend watching a couple minutes of game play for both.

I've played tomodahi life and I like it but it's too limited and repetitive after a while.. As for fantasy life I also have it and do enjoy it yeah, but I lack patience when it comes to things that require leveling up lmao and needing to fight to get money and whatever, I don't know how I enjoy Final Fantasy games but yeah I lack the patience also fantasy life has way too much dialogue which makes it kind if annoying but I do like it.. I'll have to look more into story of seasons and Phoenix Wright dd does look enjoyable, thanks for your thought out inputs!

So far I like ANB better than SoS despite the ****ty translation on the former. Perhaps I need to get farther in the game, but personally, I'd buy both. If you only want one Bokujo, pick ANB for now.

What's ANB like so far compared to SoS and why would you say it's better? Also how does ANB graphic quality look on the new 3ds, I've played some 3ds games but like for example, bravely default i did not like and the graphic quality bothered me tbh but I've heard from someone else that they liked ANB more than SoS but they said they're still new into it so they'll have to see how SoS progresses.

I am 60+ hours into SoS and can actually say from my own perspective while some aspects like festivals are a tad lacking and yes there are the usual small framerate issues, I have enjoyed this title far more than ANB; you need to get through the first year to seriously start having fun, the dating aspect is actually quite fun and there is wonderful variation of candidates to go after, this definitely trumps ANB for me and I feel the Let's Plays don't capture the fun you experience though everyone thinks differently haha. There is also a HUGE selection of ways to customize home/outside and character as opposed to ANB : )

Also I have logged 117+ hours into ANB so just my opinion xD

I also would definitely recommend Dual Destinies, I am still working my way through the trilogy before I continue DD but so far it's a wonderful game with so many different characters and their crazy personalities; love all the different trials I have seen thus far and would think it should be enjoyed if you love good humor and plenty of whodunnit courtroom craziness/clue finding and a good story overall : )

I haven't played Story of Seasons, but I have heard some great things about it (from friends who enjoyed ACNL as well).

I am going to second the recommendation for Rune Factory 4. It was such a fun game. I clocked way too many hours into it. Haha. And I actually found the male bachelors quite amusing, it was the girls I found kind of boring tbh. I guess it just depends on your taste. But besides that, I think it's definitely a great game that you should consider. :)

Also I am Ace Attorney trash so of course I'm going to tell you to get Dual Destinies. It was specifically made with new players in mind, so I don't really think you have to play the other games before it. It wouldn't hurt, of course, but it's not a requirement. All of the games are great so either way, whatever you decide to do, it's a win-win. ;)
