I feel like I'm constantly running out of storage, but I didn't really want to make another character if I could avoid it... Any tips on how to manage storage?

I'm the same situation as you are. I only have my mayor because I don't like having more than one character, and now I don't have anywhere to put another house, so what I do is constantly check whether I really need what I have in my closet and sell what I don't need. It's the only thing I can do. :/

Besides clogging your locker with things, there are plenty of areas you can store stuff in. If your museum rooms are available or empty, you could always put extra sets or misc things in there. If your mail storage is relatively empty too, you can attach items to the letters and put them in there (although it's a pain when trying to find specific things). Besides those, using items as decor outside in your town might be an option, depending on the item and your town theme of course. And there's always the beach and private island, assuming your town has one, which are useful if you block it off from guests.

^ If you use those tips and still run out of space, another idea is to sell or discard all orderables that you aren't using, since you can easily buy those back through the catalog, except for crowns and thrones of course.

And sometimes, storage alts are the only way to go. You can always use their houses for storing extra furniture sets, and each extra character has mail/locker storage too so it is always an option you should keep open.

Yeah that's what I've been doing these past few days...

Thanks for the advice! I completely forgot about the museum. I stored my gyriods in there and never really went back lol but I'll probably end up storing all my Nintendo items in there as well!

Museum is a great place to store stuff that you don't want to get rid of but can't see yourself decorating your house with. One of my museum rooms is all decorated with Christmas stuff.

The museum is the best place to store your stuff but there's also the option of storing your stuff in letters. That method is too annoying imo. I had every room in my museum filled with stuff. It bothered me so much that I gave almost everything away and now I'm down to two rooms. Currently trying to figure out how to get rid of more stuff.

I sold everything that is either reorderable or will come around again in an event. There's no point in keeping multiple shamrock hats or cool globes or sailboat models or Pave sets when those events come around every single year.

I have Mayor Lainey's house, & two storage alts. One storage alt is for town maintenance & the other is for event storage. I only keep 2 of each item, just because I like to decorate in pairs of items. Everything else gets sold or given away.

I try to go thru my locker and saved mail once a month to see what needs to go. Found I had repeat shirts in the locker. All orderable items get sold to retail.
I do keep a shirt, top, pants, hat and glasses for each theme in my locker for lucky items. Also keep my favorite clothing.

I have extra players and one keeps the Pave, Snow, Bunny and Halloween items in her locker. The Snow, Bunny and Halloween get you repeats the following year so I wanted a set.

All my favorite Gracie tops and bottoms are in rows in a museum room. There is room to walk to the end to get the items.
The rest of the Gracie items are stored in the saved mail. Used a new letter and wrote what was inside the letter. Placed dresses in one slot so it was easy to find all the items.

If it's large piece of furniture you can wrap them in wrapping paper. A Princess bed would take up one space once it's wrapped up.
Place them in a row and write what is in each row so it's easy to find.

I have the same problem. My exhibits are getting full as well. And I don't like the idea of storing stuff in letters because I always forget what's in them. I remember in Wild-World my storage was so bad that I had to put items in my letters and them go to the Post office to save the mails that had the items. And then even my saved mail box was full! And I never even wanted to take out the letters cause it got so messy D: Now I just learned to let go of stuff I find that I won't really need. Necessities are tools, furniture you WILL be using to decorate your home according to your idea, garden supplies, and unorderables. If you don't end up using them sell it to others on here for bells/btb. Oh yeah think of what you want each of your rooms in your home to look like so it'll help you not want to hoard so much things! works for me
