I'm just rambling here, because I'm still bothered by something that happened.

Shortly after building my campsite, my very first visitor drops in.. Beau. I was so happy, because he's on the top list of my dreamies. I keep talking to him and a question pops up that allows me to ask him if he'd like to move in-- I tell him yes, but he denies me. Me being new to the game, I look up the answer through google about this, and someone tells me "No he won't move in. If someone is moving into your town that very day, even if you don't have 10 villagers yet, he will not move in no matter how many times you ask him." So I'm pretty sad about this.. I go to talk to him again and spam him more in hopes that the person is wrong, but the question doesn't come back up. I'm not the most patient person, so I figure the person is telling the truth and I give up all hope for the day.

Of course I find out later that person 100% misinformed me, so I missed out on the chance of having my dream villager.

I felt so lucky he was my first camper too, and I would have loved to fill my 10th spot with him. This happened 5 days ago and it -still- bothers me a lot. ..So I dunno I'm just rambling .-. (My town is now ..13 days old I believe.)

Anyone have any newbie mistakes you made that bothered you a bit? Maybe it'll make me feel better.

I'm sorry to hear about that D:
I'm at 10 villagers and I've already missed out on Static and Lucky. I'll be getting my spot open on Monday when Lucy moves.

A mistake I have made? Accidentally telling a villager I wanted out to stay and saved (but that was in a different town, when I first started playing).

I don't believe I made that many newbie mistakes, but my friend once mentioned she had a popular villager in her campsite, but when she first made her campsite she didn't know you could invite villagers to move in, so she missed out on them.

Aw that sucks. :/ I don't think I've made any huge mistakes besides tting Felicity out. Other than that nope.

I made many newbie mistakes, mainly because I simply didn't have much information at my disposal. For one, I didn't know the use of Re-Tail, and how you should have it closer to the docks. My map isn't as good as those who reset for four hours straight, mainly because I never thought of resetting, and it wasn't discovered when I got the game.

Fauna was my first camper and I thought she was awesome at first sight. I asked her to move in and she said no, so I didn't pursue it. I didn't realize at the time that you could. I have her in my second town, though.

In my first town, I put down PWPs without a whole lot of thought. I'm having to destroy and rebuild most of them now.

I remember my worst mistake it was horrible tting can destroy anything if its not your flowers its your villagers. I remember my luck getting both Diana and Ankha in my game the very first time i started it up Diana was a starter. Ankha i got shortly after i found her moving from my Japanese 3ds game and asked her to move to my other game.I realized that my 3ds clock was messed up so i went to the setting to change it back, and then started the game back up and found that Diana had left and then Ankha moved out like the next day. This was before i knew about TT villagers out and how they were suppose to ping you so you could stop them from moving.I can tell you that one hurt. However now I've got them both back yay.

Not really a newbie mistake since I'm definitely not new to cycling villagers, but I accidentally TTed out one of my dreamies, Diana. I have no hope of ever getting her in my main town again but at least you still can have Beau if you find him. c':
I guess my true newbie mistake was my map. There's no big problem with it, but there's definitely things that can be changed (Re-tail closer to dock, some different PWP's/villagers placement, different grass lol) and if I knew what I know now, maybe I wouldn't have picked the same map.

My only problem was the map. I have 3 ponds, my town hall/plaza in an iffy spot, and retail near the train station. My concern at the time was about the shape of the river and what that big gray blob was (the plaza, I had no idea what the retail, town hall, and plaza icons were). I could have a better map, but its workable, and by the time I realized it had faults, I was far too settled in to reset. Some permanent pwps could have been better placed, too.

I didn't know about choosing maps and resetting for them, so I picked the first map I got. It wasn't too bad in the end tbh..

Two things I regret about my game right now :(

One, I got ugly eyes/face. I looked up the beginner face/hair/look guide when I was starting, and saw the pink cute hair, so I chose it. I didn't pay much attention to the face and I didn't know you can change your hair style/color with Shampoodle. So I'm still bummed about choosing something I can change anytime over the face, which I can never change, unless I reset. Seriously, I've been on the edge of resetting due to my character's face, but thanks to this one hairstyle, I managed to just accept it.

Two, I placed my campsite in the middle of a big space. Worst mistake ever, but I managed to find a way around it. I'll probably just put a campfire behind it, tree stumps surrounding the campfire, a hot spring maybe on the side, and I guess a house/cabin nearby. Then trees or bamboos on the side path. I don't know, not sure if Isabelle will let me put them there, but I'll try anyway. It's my only hope ToT

In my old town I wasn't very happy that placing my house 3 spaces from the river ~after considering how much space should be needed for a bridge, meant I couldn't built one within 6 spaces of my front door.
And in that same town I tried the plot placing trick with one of my first moving in villagers and epically failed with it ~ due to people sayin to TT to 5:58 am the day before, which I later learned was a pointless task. I ended up with Sly moving in where I had originally wanted part of a path and then putting my date back to the actual time got another plot blocking me from any amendment to the bridges infront of my house, but that turned out to be Zells house and he became my fav villagers.

My new town the only things I regret are placing both my house and Cafe a space further forward than needed without realising. But it's minor and the extra row of flowers wouldn't add anything. I just begrudge the slight waste of space that I'l never walk on during my rounds of the town.

My map is the only true mistake I've made. Re-Tail isn't close enough to the docks. I have to walk quite a ways to get to it, and it's pretty annoying.

I'm sure he'll resurface. <3 :( Sorry to hear that though.

I can't quite think of a ton really...because I did read a lot of guides early on to figure out
which pwps I wanted and etc.
I did however not look into the villager house reset trick because I had great luck with where all my villagers were moving. I didn't think I needed it till..Ankha finally moved in who I was super happy to get. She placed her house in the worst location ever. So I had to move her out into my cycling town, cycle 16 in my main town to get her back, and then start from scratch when another loved villager surprised moved out in the process, and then finally moved them both back in using the villager reset trick...it was def a trip and very tedious. So now I always use the reset trick when I'm expecting someone to move in.
Oh! When I first got the game..I was soooo excited for another AC game. I knew to look at the guide to choose my face because I've been playing since GC days. However, in my excitement to play, I completely didn't think about resetting till I had my favorite fruit (apples) and a layout I absolutely adored...I do like my layout now. It's not the best but it's alright. My fruit is peaches which aren't my favorite but as long as it's not oranges...

My town should have been named better...
I built my campsite in a bad spot.
Building PWPs where ever, not planning spots
Getting to deep in my main town that I can't reset now...

Well I would say my biggest newbie mistake would be that I sent a fairly popular villager to the void thinking no one would want said villager.
I did however avoid a huge mistake by luck. At the time I thought that if you had 2 spots open in your town you could invite 2 villagers to move in the same day, later I found out if I won both and invited both on the same day only the last villager would have moved in. Luckily I only won one auction that day.

When I started Diana was one of my villagers but I didn't like her very much. So I ended up voiding her, not knowing she was popular at all.

awww man!! well, if it makes you feel any better, the same animal can camp again!! i've had maple in my campsite 3 times within a few months x___x

my rookie mistake was only planting one perfect orange tree and shaking/selling them all. i didn't know it wouldn't regrow!! also, my mayor's face is really creepy and i didn't even think of redoing the train ride. she has that circle eyes/tiny pupil face and it looks like she's going to murder someone.....
