I was wondering if anyone has done any research on the probabilities for the different turnip prices and costs. I found one website that said the prices only follow 4 different patterns in any given week, and I was wondering if anyone knew any further data about that. I haven't found much so far, so if no one has come across any information, I may start to try and do a study on it myself.

This won't be very much help as I don't remember where it was, but I'm sure I've seen something that tracked the prices over a period of weeks and worked out a probability for each selling price pattern. I know it's out there, hopefully someone else has an actual link.

There are several kind people on this forum who time travel to keep the turnip price above 500, and some even managed to get it around 620. Get in contact with them through the main turnip price thread and wait your turn to visit their town.

Around Thursday, or earlier, some mayors might make a thread on the forum when their turnip price is above 400 or 500. Leave a reply there, wait your turn, and visit their town to sell. To basically there is no need to go through head-breaking mathematical patterns.

I can certainly understand the benefit of doing that, but to me that takes out a bit of the fun of the stalk market if I can always sell for a high amount. I don't know if this is what Spencer was talking about, but the section on the Stalk Market of this FAQ:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/3ds/997811-animal-crossing-new-leaf/faqs/65246
looked like it had some pretty good numbers, for those like me who like to gamble with it.

Liquefy's faq on the Stalk Market has examples of the different kinds of patterns for the Stalk Market.

You can also use this:

http://www.kurtboyer.com/guides/AnimalCrossingCityFolk/StalkMarket/

It's the Stalk Market Wizard. You input the values of the prices you get in the morning and afternoon and it predicts what kind of pattern you currently have and then it can tell you when you should sell. Combine that with Liquefy's faq and you should be able to predict the time when you should sell.

Highest I've seen was 669, but the person wanted really stupid things for it and even charged an entry fee. -.-

So much of that on gamefaqs. -_- People would charge like 500k-1mil entry fees. And then there were fees for every time you had to make a locker trip.

This person charged unreorderable DLC, too-many-bells, golden furniture, hybrids that no one could make (coughcoughbluerosescoughcough) and things like that. All I wanna do is sell my turnips. -.-
