i really wish we could have all the character species as villager options(skunks like kicks, tapirs like luna, foxes like redd, hedgehogs like the able sisters, and raccoons like timmy, tommy, and tom nook)

i also think ferrets would be p cute as well

Dogs are already villagers though, there's quite a lot of them. Unless you mean different breeds
I would love to see more marine animals. A fox would also be quite cute but it may look to similar to the wolves (just going off the way chief was designed. Guinea pigs would be cute too, since we already have hamsters and I would really love to have a newt villager. Since we already have frogs it's not too much of a leap I wouldn't think

Dog/Puppies (more variety regarding breed/design)
Foxes
Alpacas
Bats
Hedgehogs
Giraffes

Some of these are already in the game as NPC, but I think it would be cool if they could be utilized as villager designs as well

Not exactly a new species, but had an idea for a new villager. Melonie the frog. Peppy personality. Catchphrase: fruitcup. Her house is fruit themed and her head looks like a watermelon.

I would like more giraffes and turtles/tortoises (instead of just Gracie/Tortimer/the Kappas), red pandas, lizards, dragons, and maybe some more rare or unusual animals like axlotls or wombats or pangolins!

Insects!! I would love a moth or preying mantis villager.

I'd say that that'd make the fact that you catch bugs in the game pretty weird, but you can catch octopi and octopi are villagers.

Insect would be great I'd like to seem more aquatic ones like Dolphins to and Foxes I know we have Redd but he doesn't count.
