After a villager has asked to move and I've said no, am I ok to go forward in time by a few months? I don't want to lose any villagers!

Is there a limit on how far you can go forward?

Hello! Well, what I know for a fact is that if you haven't talked to a villager in two weeks, there's a chance that they may move out. That's what happened to my Jock villager anyway. If you time travel a few months, there is a chance that one or two villagers would move out and be replaced. If you wanted to time travel a few months, time travel the safe way. What I mean is that you should time travel forward to every week and talk to all your villagers at least once every time-travelled week. That way you can avoid the chance of them leaving and thinking that you've been ignoring them. Keep TTing weeks until you reach the month that you want to go to. If you want to time travel a lot of months, you should still do this method if you don't want any villagers to leave. Even though it would take some time to time travel forward to every week, it's still better than doing it the fast way and making all of your villagers move out. The only time limit I know of for villagers is 2 weeks, though some say it's a shorter 1 week and 6 days. Cheers!

I'm pretty sure you'll be ok. I always go back in time and I've never lost anyone. I think going forward works the same. If you do go forward, your villagers will not ping you until you speak to them. They give you the silent treament because you haven't spoke to them in so long. Talking to them will break the spell. Someone else might be wanting to move, so make sure you find out who it is. Your hair will be messy, and you'll have a bunch of weeds, ( only if you don't have beautiful town ordinance).

I would wait for more replies on this topic before doing it. Better safe than sorry.

Ok, i just read where someone said that time travel backwards only counts as one day, but moving forward doesn't. Now I'm not so sure how safe it is.

On the day that you have stopped a villager from moving out or allowed one to move out, after saving your game, you can go ahead and TT forward to far as you like, for example 10 years, and you will not lose a single villager. Well, of course except for the one that you wanted her to move out 10 years ago xD

Short answer, there is no limit and it is perfectly safe.

I'm sure that i've seen someone say that you're free to time travel as far ahead in time as you want as long as you deny someone's move. I'm not completely sure if that's still true though given the new update. I do know that you can take a break from the game for as long as you want as long as you deny a move though.

It's the same thing. The system doesn't know the difference between time traveling and it actually being months between play times. I mean, you have to manually change the time to TT but it doesn't "know"

The villagers might say things like "I haven't seen you in a while," but I have tt'ed since the update and haven't lost a villager. I just make sure to talk to my villagers after I tt. Someone always seems to ask me to move a few days after I tt.
