Sonic Generations Gameplay

I'll laugh so hard if Sega's attempt to please both sides of their fanbase fails miserably. True, I may be a bit bitter towards the game because I won't get to play it (it's Sonic '06 all over again, dammit!), but I honestly think that Sega shouldn't be trying to please their split fanbase. It's not possible, lol. Or maybe it is, and maybe this game will be the huge success that everyone wants it to be. And that'll make me all the more disappointed, because I won't get to play it myself. At least the last big exclusive that I missed out on turned out to be a disaster, but I still wish I could have played Sonic '06.

If only Sonic's 20th anniversary was a year later... Then it'd fall in line with the release of the Wii's successor. Ugh.

The Sonic 20th Anniversary game is going to be called Sonic Generations.
Can anyone confirm this to be the official name of the game?

This will either be amazing.

Or it'll be the worlds biggest fail. Next to Rebecca Black

Of course it will be a success. Sonic Colors is the best Sonic game in a while and Sonic Unleashed daytime levels were great. Not only that, the classic levels are using the classic physics instead of Sonic 4's backwards ass Rush physics. It might even have city escape in it.

SHUT UP. STOP IT. STOOOOOP. DON'T MAKE ME WANT IT MORE THAN I ALREADY DO. IF I BELIEVE THAT IT'S NOT GOING TO BE GOOD, THEN I'LL WANT IT LESS, THEREFORE I'LL BE LESS DISAPPOINTED ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY IT.

UGH. JUST WATCHED MORE FOOTAGE. WHY SEGA, WHY?!

I swear, this game better come to a platform that I have. Wii, 3DS, iPhone, Mac... C'mon!! I'll hold off until the release of the Wii's successor, and if no port is announced by then, I might just have to find a cheap 360 or PS3 to play this. UGH.

Just get a 360, man, there are plenty of good games even for somebody with Nintendo-like tastes (like, uhh, me). I couldn't care less about CoD or Halo and I still think the 360 is a great buy.

Name 5, then. Non-Sonic.

Tye why don't you just get a PS3? Then you can play 06 and Generations.
Also, the Wii and 3DS can't handle these intense GRAFICS

Because I don't want to spend FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY-NINE US DOLLARS. Er, I mean TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY-NINE US DOLLARS on a system that I'll only play for two games. Besides, if I do get either a PS3 or 360, I'd probably go with a 360 just because I could also play Sonic Free Riders should I ever get a Kinect. Oh, and I hate the DualShock controller. I don't really like the 360 controller either, but it's okay.

Also, there's no reason why they can't port it to 3DS. Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition looks very faithful to its console counterpart, there's no reason why Sonic Generations couldn't, either. Plus, the 3D more than makes up for the lack of HD, in my opinion. I'd rather have depth than higher resolution.

HOLY POTATOES! i have been a huge fan of the Sonic games and pokemon games never the less, and one of the most epic story lines comes to the Xbox360! luckily i bought the xbox in november so im used to the controls :D

Tye (for PS3):
LittleBigPlanet (fun cheery 2.5D Platformer with buildable levels)
LittleBigPlanet 2 (even more fun and even more cheery 2.5D Platformer with even more building options)
3D Dot Game Heroes (Great Zelda clone)
Modnation Racers (Kart Racer with buildable tracks)
Any of the Ratchet and Clank games (corky action adventure games)
There's 5.
All great cheery Nintendo-like games.

Played LittleBigPlanet before, didn't like it. Maybe I'd like the second one more, but there's no way it can capture my interest like Mario, Pok?mon, Zelda, Kirby, Sonic, etc.

3D Dot Game Heroes looks meh to me. Too generic. Yes, I get that it's a "tribute" to older games, especially Zelda, but because of that it's very generic, which I don't like.

ModNation's not for me, either. Neither is Ratchet and Clank.

Truth is, even if I play some of those games and end up liking them, I can guarantee that I won't like them nearly as much as I love Nintendo's franchises. I'm not going to play games that are "okay" to me over the games that I love most.

You don't like them because you went into playing the games with the mindset that you would not like them. Don't say it's not true, because it is.

Gotta agree. Be a little more open-minded! There are plenty of games out there that you'd probably love :D Hell, there's even Sonic costumes for LittleBigPlanet.

No, really, it isn't. I'll admit, in the past, that would have been the case, but not anymore. I've developed a much better attitude towards non-Nintendo games in the last year or so. Of course, you guys here on the forums don't see it much at all, because this is where I go to talk about the things that I like most; Nintendo games. Anyway, the point is I played LittleBigPlanet with my roommates, and though I can definitely see the appeal of the game, it's not my type. It plays similarly to franchises that I like such as Mario, yes, but it doesn't match the...hm...what do you call it...atmosphere? Theme? Style? I dunno. It's just too...generic. Maybe that's not the best word, but I think you can understand the point I'm trying to make. Sackboy is...okay, but he's no Mario, he's no Link, he's no Sonic, he's no Kirby...
