This thread is sort of to see if anybody is experiencing the phenomenon I am. Do you ever hear one song and think "dang, this song reminds me of this other song!" Yet, the songs have little to no similarities? Yeah! That!
I experience this with only two songs. Tears of a Clown by Smokey Robinson and Hitchin' a Ride by Vanity Fare.
And it's ONLY if I listen to tears of a clown first. Not vice versa.
Really the only similarities I might be able to see are the intros. They have a similar feel to them somehow. Also the years the songs were made were similar. (Recorded 3 years apart). I might also experience this because I believe my uncle introduced me to both of these songs (Definitely introduced me to tears of a clown, not sure about hitchin' a ride)
Do you experience this with any other songs? Let me knowww

Not sure If I understand exactly what you mean, but one song that comes to mind reading this thread is Ministry's "Scarecrow". It usually reminds me of not only Led Zeppelin's "When The Levee Breaks", but also The Smith's "How Soon Is Now?". Those are three seemingly unrelated songs that I usually associate with one another due to certain little things (which I won't give away. They should be somewhat obvious).

Ministry - Scarecrow

Led Zeppelin - When The Levee Breaks

The Smiths - How Soon Is Now?
