Hey sorry to butt in but I do think that if you buy a villager from someone they sometimes mention talking to that person even though they really didn't! Sort of like the whole humming the other towns tune thing! Happened plenty of times to me!

IDK, I think you'd need to talk to the person first and not submit a negative rating without trying to get to the bottom of it.

It's because Marshal was originally from her town that he talks about her though. Villagers talk about any player that talks to them, so your "lead" isn't very helpful at all.
