Some kind of glitch with Deirdre...?

So I got on my game today, and since Deirdre lives right by my house, naturally I went to talk to her first. We had a short conversation about scary stories, and then all of a sudden a thought bubble appeared above Deirdre's head and she started walking around all weird?









These are the pictures I took of her. I've heard about some glitch dealing with this but I didn't really know if it was true or not but I guess it is? This is the first time I've talked to her today.

It's not really a glitch but that's strange, usually when that happens I'm usually talking to them 10 times in a row or so.

For me it usually happens when I spam chat with them. Maybe it depends on friendship?

Yeah, I guess but it's still really weird because this is the first time this has ever happened to me.


EDIT - I'm going to try and TT ahead a day and see if Deirdre acts the same way again.

But it's weird to me because I only talk to my villagers like once a day, sometimes twice. I don't spam chat with them or anything.

No, it can happen even if you don't spam chat with them.
I've spoken to Julian/Frita/Tia like once or twice and then they got the thought bubble. It's normal

Somebody posted on ACC about a similar glitch involving Hazel and I also had a similar problem with Hazel so maybe this is an Uchi problem.One day I talked to Hazel and she responded normally then a bit later that day I spoke to her a second time and she yelled "Why do ya keep talkin' to me??" or something like that.Then about five minutes later she pinged me to buy something that was in my pockets.

Happen to me too when I speak to muffy.

I've had this happen, Fuchsia was talking about fortune telling or something like that and immediately needed some, uh, personal space to ponder on it. I'm pretty sure this is a feature on uchi villagers, not a glitch.

I had it too! It happens to many of my villagers and u just have to wait so then they will stop.

It's just like when your villager gets depressed or rages, and then they walk around with that emotion and you can't talk to them. It's like a new one of those added to New Leaf. Once I saw Harry and Rodney talking, and Harry got really frustratingly confused by what Rodney was saying. Then afterward, I heard this low, creepy pulsing sound. It was Harry, walking around, using thought bubbles. ...I was a little creeped out that night...

Also, why does everyone automatically assume "lol it's an uchi thing" every time something weird happens? Harry's a Crankblanket and he did it.

I've never had this happen before. I'd just guess that you may not have an especially high friendship with her, and so she begins to think and walk away when you talk to her because the game has been programmed to make her seem unused to being talked to.

I'm pretty sure people should stop passing on false information

It's not a feature on uchi, my normal villager has done it once.
