When you have bad luck you trip and fall with the hat on you don't fall down anymore I think that's it lol
I dont know, I quit going to Katrina cause all she did was cause bad luck and I never had whatever good luck item it was that she told me to have..so I ended up tripping all day and stuff..She can stay out of my town for good. I dont like her.

You don?t need to have the certain lucky item to avoid bad luck on a bad luck day anymore. So you won?t trip with the hat.

Lucky item to wear can boost wealth (double money from trees and rock money)
Health (less bees and falling)
Love / friendship (makes it easier to be friends with opposite sex / friend with same gender)

If it's the lucky item that she described like a Iconic shirt or a skirt, or any other description, that means that when you wear it, you no longer will trip. Your luck will go back to normal like on a regular day.
If it's the hats that she sells, called the celebration/tingle hat or something like that, it works the same way, but it won't matter if you are wearing the other item she described. The hats will revert your luck back to normal even if you aren't wearing a skirt or whatever other item. They might also help your luck from what I heard so you could shake a tree and get 200 bells instead of 100, but I'm not too sure on that part.

There are five categories of luck: fortune, items, friendship, romance and health. Each day, you will either have bad luck in one of these categories, or have a chance to increase your luck in one of them. By wearing the lucky item of the day (or one of Katrina's charms), you will either negate the bad luck for the day or improve your luck. Katrina will tell you which category of luck is affected that day and how it is. Here is a guide that goes more into detail on what each category of luck affects.
