So I just bought series 1-4. I just said I wasn't interested in Amiibos nor would I be buying any but I guess I say a lot of things. Also it's too late to cancel the order so I can't change my mind even if I wanted to. I'm getting 24 cards to start off with. I have joined the Amiibo family.

Anyways, I'm not sure what to expect with these things. Does each series have predetermined villagers or is it random? Because if it were random, that would be pretty cool, as long as I get Tutu.

Although with all the villagers and each pack having only 6, getting Tutu could be very unlikely but I can always buy more Amiibo cards. I mainly got the Amiibos because of the Roost and I'm not going to lie, I did want to see what the whole Amiibo thing was about.

Each series has certain villagers and npcs in them, so if you wanted tutu, you'd want to be looking for series 1 cards because I believe she's part of that set.

Also, the fun thing about life is us having the freedom to change our minds as we go through our days. Even if you didn't want amiibo cards before, it's perfectly fine that you might want them today.

Thank you. So I will focus on series 1 first.

Yeah, the other day I was like 'Amiibos, I'm not interested'. But watching the new update stream with the Roost and the DLC likely relying on Amiibo as well, I was like 'eh, what would it hurt to just buy some cards to just see what it's about?'

I think I see how these Amiibos work now. Just buying one set isn't going to work, you would have to buy multiple packs in order to get all of the villagers.

It will at least make it easier to kick out unwanted villagers that you don't want to have on your island and it will at least give you more to do with them since the new update is coming soon that is taking advantage of this.

If there are specific villagers you want that you don't get in the packs, a lot of people sell individual cards on eBay. Tutu is selling for only around $3 right now. The price is usually based on demand/villager popularity.

Welcome to the dark side. (But also, my sympathies.)

The good news is, since they’re trading cards, they’re way easier to trade than swapping the full-scale figures, and way cheaper to acquire. The bad news is, there are 450 of them and the Welcome Amiibo cards were available in stores for about three days in November 2016 and have never been seen since. (No lie, I saw them once in the Gamestop at the local Abandoned, Slowly-Dying Mall right after release, I bought two packs, and I never saw them again even at said abandoned Gamestop. It is the only way I know they ever existed in the wild at all.)

The series 1-4 packs are arriving today. Tutu's card is going to get here tomorrow! I'm so excited!!

And of course, I'm going to tell you what cards I got.

Same!! Hahaha same thing happened with me i am slowly getting in the fam, i got some cards just in time for the update and thought about buying more ( cause now i wanna complete the series 1-5 and make homes to everyone ) BUT , i said okey before you buy more of 1-4 series wait for the 5th so you get some cards, plus i really want wisp ☺️ His cute and although does not add much gameplay i would like to make him a sort of him i know its hard since he is a gosht but i say challenge accepted plus i find him so adorable, reminds me to the personality of the little broken tea cup from beauty and the beast 😅

I'm probably not going to buy anymore until series 5 comes out. What I am not going to do, however is race people to get them if they are released in limited quantities like the Sanrio cards. I wouldn''t race people to get a TV, I sure as heck am not going to race them to get some Amiibo cards.

I just went on eBay and bought Tutu's card. I need to stop spending money on these. XD

It has started. Oh god....

You bought Tutu individually even before you saw if your pack has Tutu in it? You're silly. :) The upside though is the chances of getting Tutu in your series 1 pack is very small, so you PROBABLY won't have her in it. And even if you do, you could always trade 1 to try to get another card you like!

As far as limited quantities, Nintendo actually may be limited by the number of Sanrio cards that they can make due to the IP licensing from Sanrio. There's other hobbies I'm in that sometimes the IP licensing restrictions says that they can only make x number of a thing.

But this would not be an issue for the other AC cards since Nintendo owns all of those characters. Because this update has multiple amiibo features (both inviting characters to The Roost and things with HHP), I see the other cards being in production for a while.

Yeah I did. XD But like you said, the odds are small of her being part of the series I had bought but at least this way I will know for absolute sure I have her now.

I didn't know that Sanrio was released in limited qualities because of licensing. Thanks for telling me. Still a lot I have to learn about Amiibos since I'm just now getting into it. :)
