So, Hacked Trees, What Happened To Them?

So, I haven't heard anything about Hacked Trees in a while and I was wondering what happened to them?

Did Nintendo finally remove them? Did the people with the Trees get banned/reset? Do people even bother anymore to hack them into the game?

I figured since they are banned in every place, (Nookazon, TBT, etc.), due to there hacked nature, that the "hype" has died down and not that many people bother with them anymore. Not to mention, more than half the time people charged ridiculous amounts of money for them, another incentive for people to turn them down.

But what do you guys think? Is there still a market out there for these trees? Or are they now a relic that only few people still have?

Would love to hear what you guys have to say.

I've been to islands not that long ago (like a week or two ago) that had those kinds of trees, so I'm guessing they're still around. There's a discord I'm on that gives them away once in a while, but I'm not interested in getting attached to trees which could very well get deleted (or shaken by a visitor) so I never bother entering those.

I figured that because of their popularity, they would be very good for giveaways, and I feel if there is still some sort of market for them, its on discord.

If Shesez's video was taken down because Nintendo doesn't want their games being modded or hacked, keep in mind I don't know the real reason, then I'm curious as to why this type of hacking hasn't been patched out.

I’m not by any means a modder or hacker, but wouldn’t it be possible to fix this by making it so the trees code can’t be tampered with or something along those lines?

i got some star trees free from discord too some still on my island and nothing happen yet. I dunno but i guess time to shaking them lol

I wouldn't know. I think all Nintendo could really do is patch these, but then modders/hackers would probably find a different way to do it. Of course I think a lot of people were having a hard time modding Super Smash Bros. Ultimate compared to Super Smash Bros. 4. I don't know how it works.

People always find a way to hack into games and find glitches. What I find funny is just how fast they do so hahahahahaha.

yea i just using them for display only. But it is an hacked item btw so there is a chance i got <bam> from anytime although i didnt hack lol

I wish without hope that when they do patch them out of existence they'll also add real star fragment trees as a craftable item. The hacked trees look so nice that it'd be cool to have some legitimate remnant of them (even if it looks different) available for everybody.

That’s another thing that I’m wondering. Should people who got the trees but didn’t hack get punished? Should Nintendo just take away the trees and that’s it or should they get banned?

I wish without hope that when they do patch them out of existence they'll also add real star fragment trees as a craftable item. The hacked trees look so nice that it'd be cool to have some legitimate remnant of them (even if it looks different) available for everybody.

Maybe one day Nintendo will listen to us and give us legit fragment trees.

The trees break and leave a dead tile and you can't ever fix it without being able to hack the game yourself. People are learning the consequences of their existence and probably just don't want them to ruin their game, so.

Wouldn't recommend shaking them, dig them up and sell them. Shake them, and you'll never be able to remove that tree/do anything with the square of land it's on, as far as I know. Dead tiles.

Nah, it's confirmed it wont long time ago on this forum too and i did shaken by mistake one time already lol

Then it must be only some, since I have a hacked Switch and was able to replicate the issue mentioned.
Also had the issue with the forever wrapped unwrappable gift you couldn't throw away or do anything with. Luckily all on my second Switch.

That said, be careful with the rest just in case!

This was a rumor which has since been debunked. lol got ninja'd

That being said, I still wouldn't advise people to get star fragment trees, since Nintendo is rolling out regular updates for the game.
