Okay? so, this is my second winter in Animal Crossing. The first time, I built snowmen and snow mams and I got the entire ski series and ice series. So this year, I figure 'Neat! I'll get the snow tyke items because the snowman series itself just doesn't appeal to me' so I built a snowman yesterday and figured I'd build a snowboy today? and I know that snowtyke wants his family to be perfect to get the best item (I figured I might as well start with the best and work my way down) BUT SNOW BOY IS NEVER HAPPY WITH HOW I BUILD HIM!!!!!

What am I doing wrong? He's the second largest snow person, right? So what I usually do is roll up a big snowball, though not quite as big as snowman's bottom ball, and then roll a second big ball though that's not quite as big as the bottom one. But he's always 'Man, if I had been more aesthetically pleasing, I might be happier!' or 'You're about 70% of the way there!' How dare you?! I just gave you life! You don't get to complain about how I made you!

?What do I do? I settled on a perfect snowmam for today but I'm gonna have to try and make a perfect snow boy tomorrow. I tried using this guide http://bidoofcrossing.tumblr.com/post/39261094591/the-above-images-show-you-the-correct-dimensions but I guess I can't follow instructions for crap because I just can't do it! Any tips? Any recommendation? Any secret as to how to build a good snow boy that I just don't know about?

I go by what it says on Thonky, where the bottom snowball is about ear level, and the top is just slightly smaller than that. I've only built one so far, but this seemed to work just fine for me.

I don't particularly like the snowmen events.

Especially the Father snowman. I hate that he gives you an item which will only disappear from your inventory if you complete the bingo card OR wait until like mid February

What I don't like myself is looking for the snowballs… it was fine during that first winter because I had just gotten the game and my town was still pretty barren but now, it's full of trees and animal tracks and stuff, so rolling up the snowballs without rolling them over animal tracks, reducing their size or not accidentally rolling them into something hard is difficult…

I like the trick of have the bottom ball be just under the ear and the top ball be slightly smaller than that, though. I'll give it a shot tomorrow =D

When I was preparing for StarFall, I tried to get the Snowboy items too, but every time I try, he won't give me the items. In fact, it was so bad that I even had to buy Snowboy items from the trading boards before I joined TBT. Snowboy is like a girl who is overly sensitive to her looks.

Exactly! But I don't even care about his items, I just want the snow tyke items! :(

Does anyone know if it still counts as a part of the snow family if I let someone else come in town and make the snow boy for me? XD Maybe I could hire someone over the board to do it...

with my TTing into the snow days a week or so ago, i just wanted the snow bunny from snowtyke but i kept messing up mam/boy. yesterday, i built snowtyke (which ive done successfully many times before) and 'oh! so close!'
i just wanted to punch snowtyke
i just reset instead lol

I always wore a piece of clothing with lines or buttons to determine how big to build each one. Write info down. Wear same outfit everytime you make any of them. If it's not the right size quit without saving. Make sure you didn't do anything important before that. You can reset until you get it right without wasting days. Just find a good outfit and stand behind snowball to see what it lines up to.

Oh, here's a tip of getting the Snowtyke items:

Even if the Snowboy thinks you're still not perfect, his head needs to be larger than his body or significantly smaller than his body in order to avoid getting the Snowman Matryoshka. If you are so close or if you're perfect, that will still count as "perfect" according to the Snowtyke.

Here are the screw-ups:

  • Snowman - make head significantly smaller than body.
  • Snowboy - make head bigger or significantly smaller than body. Being close to perfection won't count as a screw-up.
  • Snowmam - make head bigger than body.
  • Snowtyke - same as Snowmam.

You do not want to screw up on the Snowtyke part. If you screw up on all three of the other members, you get a sleigh. Screw up on two, you get the small igloo. Screw up on one, you get the snow bunny. If you don't screw up on any member, you get the Snowman Matryoshka. I worked on this last summer, and I was able to get all four items without going online.

Okay okay okay okay, so… I just made a snow boy and he just said 'Oooohhh, so close. Yep, this head should be a little bigger than this body. But hey, I won't complain, you did bring me to life!' Is that the 'close to perfection' that doesn't count as a screw-up you were talking about? '.'

I find the whole Snow Family to be really annoying, tbh. You're right. The Snow Boy seems to be the hardest to get just right. Last year I managed to get the whole ice set, and about half of the snowman set. I'd really like to get the rest, plus the skiing set, and whatever Snow Tyke items I didn't get. Doubt it's gonna happen though, lol.

It doesn't count. If you got it right, or not right but not disproportionate, it will help you get the snowman matryoshka.

I followed all the guides and still had problems. So I practiced in my new Harvest town that had no trees last year.
Before putting the snowball on top do save/continue. If it's wrong leave the game without saving and than try again.

When I made my first snowboy it click. The best place to make one is where there is space. You can see if it's right or needs to be a little smaller or bigger. Two nights ago I made one close to the wall and couldn't tell if he was right. I got almost perfect.
Last night I made my first perfect snowboy in an open spot by the caf?. So far I've completed 9 or 10 sets.

I was really trying to make a Snowmam, because my current one will be gone tomorrow, and what do you know. I created the perfect Snowboy. I can't tell you how I did it, because I have no clue. I wasn't even trying to make one.

he's a little piece of **** goddamn this twit for complaining

I share your pain, I'm always very close to making the Perfect Snowboy, but he complains that he's not perfect. So this year I'm not even going to bother to try and make any snow people :/

I just built a Snowboy today using a guide from the bidoofcrossing tumblr. They show a screencap illustrating the sizes of the head and body relative to the mayor. The one I had trouble with is Snowmam - I am gonna try to make her again tomorrow.

Good news! I just made Snowtyke today and he was super happy with the way I made the rest of his family! Which means that I no longer have to make ANY right-sized Snowboys for the rest of winter since now, I'll just make right-sized versions of all the other snow people to get the remaining items! Haha, the system works 8)
