The worst "event" i have ever been to.

I was one of the first 70 people to get a "gold coin" which i didn't really care about.. also a mario kart 8 flag and stickers and buttons that are all useless but i guess kinda cool to add in.

Anyways

Once i arrived i had to wait in a line. I was one of the first people in line and then hoards of others came. waited for a hour or so and finally they let us in. BUT for some reason you are brought to yet ANOTHER line with people that weren't even in the original line. Meaning i waited in a line to wait for another line. Finally once you are in there are only 4 3ds consoles which are impossible to play since everyone wants to get it and ONLY ONE TV showing super smash bros wii u ( yes this is best buy. There are thousands of TV's all around you yet there is only one that shows this ). Yeah i played it. You play one round and leave. Ordered the game and was told about the free **** i was going to get since i was one of the first people in i guess.

whoopdedoo

I vow never to do this again. That was such a waste of time.

What did you guys experience?

exact same thing. 4 hours in line for a 2 minute match. fun game but not worth the wait. never again.

I might as well repost what I wrote from the other thread
I did. I stood in line for over four hours, when I finally got there my back and feet were hurting really bad. I thought they would have it on more than one Wii U but there was only one. They should have had like ten. They had two 3DSs but I didn't have time to play on it.

Since Wario wasn't playable >_> I chose villager both times, he's pretty cool. I loved the Shrunk Funk Shuffle for a taunt! But I don't know where they are getting some of the attacks from, like since when do you ever carry a bowling ball in the Animal Crossing games?
Also they did the thing with the other line for us too because it started raining outside and they wanted to bring everyone indoors. But it seems like you had it worse since they only let you play one round, we all got two.

yeah people are saying to me on other forums "at least you got the gold coin!" yeah i got that for waiting 3 hours and play one round of super smash bros (THERE WAS LIKE ONLY 30 PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME). even when the small amount of people get their turns it takes a long time for about 10 people in front of me to play a game and it gets passed to me for like 3 minutes. I finish and order my game for the bonuses i was able to get. When i walk outside the line was massive. i feel sorry for the people in the back.

I thought this was a actually event with tvs everywhere and people playing on different systems all over the place. but no. I had to wait while a 50 year old guy with a pokemon shirt is trying to talk to me.

I'm lucky I was able to go to Nintendo World and just wait on line for 20 minutes or so. People don't seem to realize they have Smash Bros. up to demo.

This is why I'd never go to one of these. But back when the 3ds wasn't out I know that Australia had places where you could try it out and ****, I didn't go but someone I know did, he said it wasn't that packed, but I guess that's Australia for you, everyone is so laid back and no one gives a ****.
But i still wouldn't want to go because it'd either be packed and a waste of time, or it'd make me wan it even more and make the wait seem longer

most people are not in new york

I said I'm lucky. Plenty of people on Reddit or NeoGAF and some even here didn't realize Smash Bros. was at Nintendo World so I tried letting some know. There are lines but no where close to the hour long waits at Best Buy.
