My house has only been upgraded twice. The first being when it goes from a tent to q house, then again so inside it's the same size as villagers houses. But I'm contemplating not going any bigger. It looks really cute. The outside is decorated like a little woodland cottage, and inside I have a bed, dresser, tv and a sofa. In my other towns before this one, I've always made it a priority to expand my house fully, but I always get really stressed because I don't have 6 furniture sets I like and I always ended up hating how my house looked inside and could never decide what to do with each room.

My question is, has anybody else stuck with a small house on purpose?

I think I prefer it, but I have this nagging feeling thatI've not completed something and I'll never get the HHA badges and stuff.... Just curious what your thoughts are :)

I also think the small houses are super cute. I actually wish the final room sizes were smaller so that you could see the whole room in the frame.
But there's just too much stuff I like and want to display so I need the upgrades lol.
If you really like it that way I would say don't upgrade. You being happy with your house is more important than the badges. Plus you can always change your mind later. No rush to upgrade!

for a wwhile, my alt character had the same size house as yours (i deleted him a feww days ago) and it really tied in wwith the area
if small houses go wwith your towwn theme, then go for it!

I love small houses... I totally get what you mean. I really wanted to stay small for the same reason but then I started getting more money and just thought, "well why not?" -- since I've fully upgraded I've been stressed and frustrated that my house is too big and I can't figure out what my rooms all should be for... I only have one and a half rooms sorted. So stay small if it feels right!

I just caved and decided to upgrade to a left room on the bottom floor...for months I'd had the fully upgraded bottom, basement, and top floors and it felt "right" to me. The only reason I decided to upgrade was because I was running out of space to put the stuff for future rooms.

I say do what makes you happy. Animal Crossing is not the kind of game that's too focused on achievements and I think is designed to be played however you want to play it.

I personally like to take my time expanding my house because I hate having empty space with nothing to do with it. Plus, in my opinion, rushing everything spoils the fun of the game and your achievements don't feel as satisfying.

Honestly, you will probably never get the weeding or streetpass badges either. I have accepted that fact, as have many other players :P It's not worth chasing badges if it will interfere with your enjoyment of the game.
