Signpost placed on an angle

I've seen both images and videos (not promotional videos actual current game play) of the signpost turned on an angle inside of placed pointing horizontally/vertically. I have no idea how to do this but I would like too.

Does anyone know the secret to doing this? And is the signpost the only item that can do this or are there others as well? Thank you!

It's a different item - there's a separate DIY called the angled signpost. Assuming that's what you're referring to.
