sigh, I don't know what to do

since I bought acnl I've kept restarting my game over and over and over (after a month or so) for different reasons...
last time I restarted I did it so I can play with a female mayor instead of a male one because I suddenly got addicted to girly themes and qr dresses. but later I regret it and restarted again with a male mayor (because I wanted him to look like the villager from mk8)...
everything was going fine in my current town with my male mayor until I decided to look up qr clothes for him and realized all the good stuff are for the female character.
now I don't know if I should restart again with a female mayor or keep my male mayor and cross dress if I liked a dress???
I don't know what to do. I honestly prefer the male character but I also like girly themes and all the cool dresses...

Yes. Create another character. It's fun decorating a second house, and the extra pattern and storage space is nice. You could also cross dress you're male character ( like you mentioned ). Nothing wrong with that.

I think another save file would be the best option. If not, I would just cross-dress. You get the best of both then!

Yeah just cross dress honestly. After you get your hair done enough times at Shampoodle you can even use the female hairstyles.
Or make a new file so you have a female to play on. She won't be Mayor but the game isn't much different playing on a 2nd char~

I had a similar frustration when I started as a male mayor. I just cross dress lol

Honestly just have both. And just because your mayor is a male doesn't mean he can't wear whatever. ACNL is really cool about letting both genders wear everything. Not to mention both you have extra slots for designs. <3

I would make a new save file. There are perks to having a secondary character and I wouldn't want to restart a town from scratch unless there was no other option.
