We can't really answer this completely. It basically comes down to three questions you have to ask yourself:

1. Do you think you would have fun in your new town?
2. Are you able to accept that you are losing all your progress?
3. Would you have the motivation after resetting?

If you're able to say "Yes" to two of these, it is probably OK to reset.

Just like the title asks, do you think I should reset my Main town or simply leave it be?

I personally have asked myself this question A LOT this past week since I?m beginning to become quite bored with the current state of my main town. I have gotten quite far with landscaping and decorating my home, but for some reason I keep getting this urge to restart. It?s like I no longer have any motivation to keep working on my town, and it doesn't help that I haven?t really worked for anything in it either. I kind of relied on giveaway threads and trading to get things done and ?cheat? through the beginning of the game. If I were to restart, I wouldn?t rely on trading like I did last time. However I feel like I?ve made quite a lot of progress in this town and i don?t want to lose the progress that I?ve made, however this urge is just becoming far too consistent for me to ignore it lmao.

Feel free to vote in the poll above!

I personally wouldn?t. A lot of people have felt the same way on this forum and have made threads about it asking as well. If you made a lot of progress and are still on the fence about restarting, then just give it a little more time.

Some things I?d suggest are either taking a break from ACNL for a bit (to kind of refresh your brain), go visit some DAs to see how others style their towns (this tends to give inspiration for your own town), or walk through your town a couple of times and imagine what you?d like to see/get rid of. One of these might help to keep you grounded.

But, if you STILL feel this urge to reset, then I think that might be for the best. Sometimes forcing yourself to rely on no one else and begin anew can re-kindle this attachment and inspiration for your town.

I wish you the best of luck no matter what you decide, adidas! (^ν^)

I kept asking myself similar questions when I first started experiencing this urge, and after I finally came to a conclusion and I was so sure my answer was ?right?, I ended up having doubts and I fell back into this ?but what if?.? loop haha. I usually have a lot of motivation once I reset my town and start fresh, but I'm just worried that motivation will fizzle out like it did with this town and I'll l be stuck in this rut again. Im gonna keep thinking about the questions you have written and wait before making my decision, that way I'll know 100% rather then just acting impulsively. Thank you so much for your help! :)

I don't think so in my opinion. Think about the memories you have made in your main town. Would you want to delete your town forever and only picture it in your mind? You could always buy another copy to start a new one without having to delete your other town (but you'll do a lot more work then). At the end of the day, it all comes down to your choice. Just play in your own way! :)

Thank you so much for the reply and your help Morino! After reading what you and Khaelis had to say, I think I'm going to follow your advice and wait a bit before making my final decision! Im sure I'm just experiencing a little bit of a brain fart and that soon enough, my motivation will come back along with some new ideas for my town. I'll also be sure to follow your suggestion and take a nice scroll through some acnl Tumblr pages and DA's to get some inspiration. If all else fails, then I can just simply restart and play the game right this time around! Thank you so much for your input, I appreciate it a lot :)

Thank you Shellzilla for your input! Buying another copy to avoid deleting my main town seems like a great idea, but I actually already have two copies and a third one seems like it would be a lot of work haha! Knowing myself I would probably end up forgetting about it, I have a terrible memory in all honesty. But I decided im going to keep my main town for now and try to work with it a little longer, then come up with my final decision later<3 I appreciate your advice a lot, It was very helpful:)
