Should I reset my town?

I've been playing since the UK release date, got all shop upgrades and opened all of main street. Got all fossils and just a few bugs and fish left to catch, got a lot of pwps and badges but......... I hate my town name and just feel like I need a change but I don't want to regret losing everything like gracie etc. What are your views on resetting?

Don't bother. Just get a new game. Keep the past as its great memories

If buying a new game isn't an option I'd reset. You might miss all the things you've gotten but it's fun working to get them, too, isn't it?

Yes it is fun catching everything but I wish I didn't have to loose all my progress

I'm sorta in your boat, bones. Made my town in July 18 of last year and I love it. It's finished, but it's kinda full of all my newb mistakes; lots of objects are misplaced, and I absolutely despise my mayor's name. Dunno about you, but if I'm able to buy me a second copy of the game, I will, only for the sake of storing items for a new town. Sure I won't have the luxury of shopping for a while, but that won't even be necessary, since I'd still have most of my stuff. On the other hand, it may be fun to just reset my town and build it all from scratch again, because then my town's story would feel more genuine. Maybe I'll reset as soon as the hydrangeas begin to bloom.

But that's just me. Do what you think is best, man.

My daughter has a copy so I'm storing most things in her town. I've only got 3mil bells though which isn't a lot compared to some people but I'm thinking of trying the stalk market

Turnips are an extremely profitable way to get money quick, so that would work very well for you. But in case you can't find anyone on here who's got a good high price (which is a rare occasion, but to be on the safe side) you might want to read up on a couple things about turnip prices rising and falling. I play ACNL a lot, I guess.... over 1200 hours so far. I am on my 5th or 6th town and I don't regret doing this at all. For me, the earlier stages of the game are more fun, when I am discovering the new layout, laying down paths, planting foreign fruit, arranging flowerbeds, meeting new animals, and placing PWP's. By the time all my mortgages are paid off I have a hard time finding enough interesting stuff to do and my town starts to feel kind of crowded. So, for me restarting is always fun. (YMMV, of course!)

You can always go back and look at your old town in the Dream Suite, once you get it after you reset.
