Should I keep going or just stop here

So I am in the middle of the campsite trick and after 23 smugs and 33 villagers total, I got Marshal.. who I am looking for. But I am also looking for Raymond. If I take Marshal in now then it would significantly decrease the campsite trick working. I’m so stuck on what to do!

Edit: after much consideration I decided to move forward and go for Raymond. Thank you sincerely for your inputs! It was hard to say goodbye to my squirrel for now but I know we’ll meet again in the future.

Do you want to waste your time working on Raymond when you already have marshal? I say keep what you got instead of looking what's behind campsite #24985.

There’s so many factors to take into account. For example, how long are you comfortable waiting between moving them in? If you don’t mind waiting on Raymond for a while, invite Marshal. If you want them both ASAP keep trying your luck with Raymond now—because it’ll be much easier to get Marshal through a trade or purchase.

Personally I’d pick Marshal. But I’m also fine waiting weeks or even months before having everyone/everything I want.

Thanks for your input. I felt mostly crushed because I was secretly hoping to get Raymond first since I think Marshal is a lot easier to obtain by selling/auction. But I was still excited to see him. I don't feel like I'm in a particular rush, but it would be nice to have them sooner rather than later.

Haha I agree Marshal is def much cuter, but I like Raymond because he looks like this anime character I really liked.

And I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to get Raymond at an auction with the prices he's at right now. I would say depending on how lucky you are, it takes roughly around 10-15 min between each campsite visitor? I talked to my boyfriend about it and he agreed that statistically, Raymond is bound to show up at any moment, and if Marshal is easier to obtain than him then I should keep going.

I JUST got Raymond through the campsite method and honestly he's worth holding out for! I do think that Marshal is LEAGUES easier to get down the line- people do giveaways of amiibo villagers all the time. And I've seen Marshal go for pretty reasonable prices lately.

I Don't know if this is an answer, cause I don't know if I can scan Marshalls Amiibo card multiple times. Cause I'm thinking about replacing one of my 10 villagers, and I could scan Marshall and do the 3 quests for him each day to get him to move in and then once he lives in my town scan in another Amiibo (I have all cards) and replace Marshall so he is boxed and you can pick him up.
But again, I don't know If in the future, would I ever want him myself be able to scan him again or not. So maybe someone else knows this?

I Don't know if this is an answer, cause I don't know if I can scan Marshall Amiibo card multiple times. Cause I'm thinking about replacing one of my 10 villagers, and I could scan Marshall and do the 3 quests for him each day to get him to move in and then once he lives in my town scan in another Amiibo (I have all cards) and replace Marshall so he is boxed and you can pick him up.

As far as I know you can scan amiibos multiple times! I don’t want to put you out and bother you but if you ever do it please let me know!

you can always get marshal in the future with an amiibo/ via trade but not Raymond
