So I had this idea for a town, not sure what I'd call it yet, but I want it to have an Austrian countryside theme. The villagers would either be pets you would see people have there/animals you would find in the forest or mountains.

I do like my town now, and I love all my current villagers, so I'm not sure I want to give them up by resetting.

What do you think?

Aww, that would be cute! It would look totally cute with a windmill and a picnic blanket! A lot of amimals will fit into that theme too! ^_^

The "Animal Crossing New Leaf - Nintento selects" has a really nice price: € 15-20,00
So you can buy a copy without regreats. (:

Ah, that sounds like an awesome idea! ;7; I’d love to see a dream address for it if you end up completing it! Since you’re already attached to the town and villagers you have, I definitely recommend getting another copy! Hopefully you can get one cheap somewhere. I think I’ve seen a few for $15-$20 floating around on eBay. ^^

You could always just change the theme of your main town but if you reeeaaally don't want to reset it but of course if that town is something that you really love the way it is, then I would recommend just getting another copy. However, I would recommend probably completing your first town before getting a second, because a second town (imo) is quite a big responsibility to take on if you haven't completed your first town, and it can be hard to micro manage between the two. (I have two towns myself, haha.)

I think you should if you don’t want to mess with your original town. I bought a second copy myself and I didn’t regret it.

I think you should go for it if you want. The game is pretty cheap right now. I recently bought a brand new second copy at Best Buy for $20 so my husband could play with me.

Plus, I love the idea for your new town. I think it'd be really cute and if you like your current town I think you'd regret resetting. Just make sure you manage your time. Maybe take some time to finish up your current town (if it's not finished already) while you start planning out your new town, unless you have time to work on both towns together.

Thank you so much for the advice, everyone! I'm probably going to get a second copy, since I doubt I'll be getting a Switch anytime soon (because I'd rather put my money toward that if that would be a possibility, but I don't think so).

Thank you! When I get it, I'll definitely put up the dream address once it's finished. I have know of some other villagers who I absolutely love that would be perfect for the new town, so I feel it's worth it.

I say you should get another copy of ACNL game card, because that idea you have for your town sounds very pretty.

I ended up having two copies on the same device (thanks system transfer >:x) and I started a new town because why not - and it is quite fun, especially if you are late into the game on your original town and you're just really maintaining it. I wouldn't recommend resetting unless you were 99% sick of your villagers/town layout/etc. because you might miss them!
If you're on a budget, you can always find a second-hand game in your local buy/sell website like gumtree or kijiji or you can get the digital copy which is on sale I think. ^^

That sounds like a really nice idea for a new town! I would definitely say to get a new game so you can have multiple towns, but only if you have the time to have multiple towns i guess.

Some villagers you may find in the forest/mountains are; Wolves, Rabbits, Deers, Bears, Bear cubs, Birds, Eagles, Frogs, Goats, Horses, Mouses, Sheeps & Squirrels! You definately have lots of choice if you have a Forrest town!

Yeah if you want really really want keep the town you have currently so badly but want to make another town you should get another copy of acnl. :)

Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to everybody sooner, my wifi got disconnected!

Thank you! I still have a bit to go with my current town, so I'll take your advice and wait until I'm pretty much finished with that one to start on another.

Wow! That's really cheap for a new copy!

Thank you so much! Like I said to Senshi, I'm not yet done with my town, so I'll finish this one before I start on that.

That's really good advice, thank you for sharing! I'm probably going to get a second copy instead of resetting. Thanks!

Thank you so much! Thank you so much for your villager suggestions, that helps me out a lot!

Yeah,I'd get another copy.I think that makes more sense than demolishing a town that you like and have spent time and effort on.An Austrian countryside theme?I'd recommend watching The Sound of Music for some inspiration. It was filmed on location in Austria with some great cinematography of the Austrian countryside...... and the music is really good too. Here's a couple of other ideas:

-You could use the white lily as an edelweiss flower which is a national symbol of Austria
-There are a few items of clothing that might fit the theme:yodel dress,alpinist dress,milkmaid dress,blue lace-up dress,green lace-up dress,alpinist hat,milkmaid hat

Yes, I love The Sound of Music, it's one of my favorites! Thank you so much for all the suggestions.

I had two copies of New Leaf at one point. I couldn't hold interest in both towns. I preferred to put my all into one town instead.

I love your town plan. Yes to buying another copy.
Found it helpful to have the 2nd town in a different season and date. Once I passed the year and played all the events I set my other towns in different season. Playing 5 fishing or bug off in one day is too much. During winter I love having a town set in summer.

I'd say go for it. I bought a second copy of New Leaf so I could look for my dream town and I did find it. Now I use my other second copy to look for dream villagers to move in and collect fruit when I need it. Really, you can do whatever you want with a second copy or even a third, but I do like your idea for your second town. It really does sound pretty.
