Should I get Ankha or Raymond?

So, I’ve been feeling a bit conflicted on my final villager so far. I really like both Ankha and Raymond’s designs, but I can’t decide between the two.
Ankha would complete my theme where I have two each of five different personality types, but I’m very drawn to Raymond probably because of how sought after he is.
Otherwise, I do adore Raymond’s design; but I’m not sure if I want 3 smug villagers at once on my island.

from what you said, it seems like you want ankha to fit your islands theme, while you just want raymond to have him.

i'd say go with ankha

I'd definitely go with your theme and thus, Ankha (I'm also not a fan of Smugs). That said, much as I think her design is rad, it drives me nuts that she can't smile.

Anyway, Ankha definitely sounds like she'd have a good home on your island. You like her, she fits your themes, etc.
There's no point in grabbing a villager just because everyone else wants them, unless you intend to gift them or get your own dreamy/ies in exchange.

I would say this: if you only want Raymond because he is popular, then don't get him. Popularity changes over time and at least in my opinion, your island should be about what you like, not about what others like.

You mention Ankha completes a theme, which is yet another reason to get her.

And then from the practical perspective, I really feel from my own experience that having 3 villagers of the same personality type is quite boring. The repeated dialogue gets tiresome quickly.

So I say Ankha! I had her in my New Leaf town and she was one of my favorites!

it seems that ankha would be the better fit if she’ll fit your island’s theme - and plus, the only reason that you listed for wanting raymond is how sought-after he is, so i’d go with ankha
