Should I be worried about corruption?

I've noticed a lot of changes in my main copy of ACNL and I'm a bit worried. Going in and out of doors takes longer than usual (ie, the loading screen is up for a longer time), weird little glitches happen from time to time (like 'stuttering' when the character moves after being inactive for a bit) and most of all, the game freezes for a second whenever I check my premium at re-tail. It only lasts a second, but everything on the screen just freezes for maybe two seconds until the message board screen comes up.

I know ACNL is prone to corruption, and I first bought this cartridge about 14 months ago, and it was secondhand then. Should I be worried? Is there anything I should do/not do?

The Re-Tail premiums list always freezes the game for a couple of seconds for me and the loading screens are quite long for a DS game. All in all, you should be fine unless you do something silly such as trying to save once the critical battery indicator has been flashing for five minutes and having the power go.

Most of the corruption issues are with the digital version where people are either using flaky SD cards or trying to back-up from a previous save which the game has protection against where it just claims the save is 'corrupted' which is one of the worst decisions I've seen Nintendo make.

I think you'll be fine. Corruption usually only happens with bad SD cards, digital versions (like previously said). Or if you remove your SD card with the DS still on, quit the game/shut off DS while the game is saving, things like this. Usually small glitches aren't signs of corruption.

That's really reassuring guys, thanks! I'm just so freaked out at the thought of losing this town these small things have been causing some anxiety.
