Do you get pinged when you're about to go inside the building...?!

Why do they do this?

EDIT; Since it's been establish, I guess share your stories of you missing your villagers pings or passing by a balloon that you weren't able to grab.. and just saw it off a distance. Either way. x'D

I know, I feel so bad because when I go back outside the villager just plays it cool and acts like they never came running after me

That has happened to me a few times, but I really want to know what they wanted to say.
One time, I got pinged by Moe, but when I ran over to talk to him a scorpion decided to chase me so he just told me to look out for that instead of telling me whatever he was going to tell me! Why scorpion, why!

When you said pinged, I thought you were asking if the game lagged whenever you went inside. I've only been pinged when I pressed minus and went to save. I was annoyed after that.

Actually I did talk to him! I didn't know there was a scorpion until I was talking to him so I got knocked out by the scorpion!

Yeah, I learned the hard way... my Sprinkle came running to me with a 'ping' and a bright smile while I go into residential services.

Till this day I don't know what she wanted to talk with me.

So now before I open any kind of doors, I just run around to make sure my villagers 'ping' or not 'ping'.

Yeah I remember I used to do that too in NL, cause if you talked to them I assume you wouldn't get their ping! I may have kinda lost the habit, I'll have to remind myself haha

Not pinged really but I always seem to go indoors while a balloon passes overhead...

Happened to me way too many times. It's not just with getting pinged, it's also when a balloon passes right in that moment when your character is already entering the house or a bunch of shooting stars appear on the sky. The latter one sucks the most honestly.

This happened to me too often, but here’s how you get the ping back: stay in the building, then exit, then enter again, then exit again— the thought cloud will be back. You have to leave (any building) twice for it to trigger again though
